As for Jojo part 5, it's because the protagonist and the villain are bar none the most boring, generic and uninteresting in the series. Giorno starts out like he could be interesting with his mischievous lifestyle but devolves inmediately into boring serious schlock with no personality.

Also, the way they beat the villain is the most offensive asspull in the series, and that's saying A LOT, because it's not even interesting, it's just a ''no u'' stand ability that gets unlocked at the last moment.

you make it sound like people only liked part 4 ironically, the characters were seriously beloved even with a translation that was almost unintelligible, because part 4 is that good. The characters are likable, they have personality, they have faults, they're not some stoic justice action figure like Giorno. The villain is miles more interesting because you get to see him a lot more, compared to Diavolo who is a shadowy figure most of the time/some baloney about an alternate personality somehow changing his whole appearance including height. Kira is also beaten using nothing but pre-established abilities and not a last second powerup.

like I said, the new translation only makes dialogue more stylish, it absolutely does not fix how boring the characters are or fix the offensively bad asspull at the end.

They're all liked, some more than others, part 5 has a bad fame in the west but it's not straight up despised, it still has good fights for the most part and Bruno is ironically far more likable than the protagonist himself to the point where I just kept reading it because of him. Doesn't help that part 5 is unconnected to other parts and you don't miss anything if you skip it except for Polnareff.

I think you're exaggerating the blandness of the original part 5 translation to the point of using it as an excuse as to why people dislike part 5, like I said, the only difference is the stylishness of the dialogue, that's not the reason people dislike part 5 at all.

If part 4 had a ''bland'' translation, it'd still be beloved because it's not just fancy dialogue but also character actions and story progression, the actions Josuke and Kira do far outdo Giorno and Diavolo's in interest and variety.

Part 5's new translation isn't making people change their mind at all.

I think you're confusing Joseph's ingenuity with hamon itself, since the latter is mostly ''makes things hurt more'', stands have infinitely more variety since anything goes with them.

That said, Part 3 is rather boring compared to later parts in stand ability variety, by part 6 shit gets REALLY wack.
