The earlier games with Pacific OP had non pokemon related tributes thrown in. We made an agreement later on that only pokemon related tributes are allowed,but mods got butthurt anyway.
Besides that I don't know why they're banned.

It's barely Pokémon related at all. People pretend that it is, but it isn't.
It's like going to /v/ and posting Madoka or Sakura and saying "what are some VIDEO GAMES where I can look at cute anime girls?"
Sometimes there are even non-Pokémon related tributes or even stale memes as tributes.
It's garbage and deserves to be banned.

I am not okay with the other threads you're bound to mention. But even if they don't get rid of those threads, the mods still get rid of Hunger Games threads, and I consider that a good thing regardless. Baby steps. They do it for free, after all.

Because there's very little discussion value in them, they are barely tangentially related to the board, they slowly encouraged roleplaying and avatarfagging, and when they were first a thing two fucking years ago they flooded pretty much the entire site and were banned sitewide. /vp/ is the only board that still attempts to have them, the rest migrated to /trash/ where they are still allowed.

Yes on /v/ and /a/. /co/ was cool with it for a long time, but then the mods changed and what were considered by even /v/ to be the best games got shut down. after that all the boards lost it and now only /vp/ has people who will host games.
