I was in the Battle Tree before grinding some BP and I was playing with Volcarona (life sphere), Garchomp (garchomita) and Rotom-water (leftovers), and I encountered a Carracosta that outspeeded and killed my whole team. He used rain dance first, and then waterfall and rock slide, so he was not using choise scarf, and I checked and Carracosta doesn't have Swift swim... This happened to me more times during my game, but not in previous generations. And btw, Garchomp was 6IV with speed nature and trained to be fast.
So my question is, is there a new speed mechanic in the game or is it a bug? I have searched in google and nobody else is complainisng or talking about speed in pokemon SUMO.
only makes sense if Trick Room was up. Carracosta is abysmally slow (even with Swift Swim)

did you record the match?

>Carracosta doesn't have Swift swim.
But she does
>>31757461
No trick room was up

I was so pissed I didn't record it. I'm stupid, sorry!

No, OPPO, they didn't change the speed mechanics in SUMO. Maybe it just had good INVAs. I know it's frustrating when you're trying to earn BAPO, but there must be a legitimate explanation, because the mechanics are the same as in OMRUALSA and in all prior games. That's why /VIPO/ hasn't been talking much about it.
it does get swift swim and can achieve 184 speed in rain which is good enough to outspeed everything you have>>31757430

>life sphere
>garchomita
>rotom-water
Are you sure you're not from a parallel universe?
It does get swift swim retard

Just realized this is probably the case. Full investment in rain can outspeed everything.

Thanks anon. I didn't realize it was his hidden hability.
