Why does the postgame get worse every gen?

Think of it like this, there's nowhere good to grind in the postgame, battle facilities force you to use specific teams to get far, all that shit. Mt Battle wasn't like that, was way better than Tower clones

>play in one mode for exp grinding and getting BP, albeit slower than the other mode due to being easier
>play in harder mode for more bp, more competitive, get a continue every time you win a fight without a mon fainting
>get checkpoints every 10 fights

They stopped trying, because they realized they make more money when they try less, saving developer costs but not affecting sales. Some directors like Morimoto and Unno seemed to care, which is why HGSS and BW2 were the last great games, but they won't put either of those people in charge anymore. Ohmori is just Masuda-lite, slightly better than Masuda regarding bringing back old features (just judging from SM's minor, appreciated Gen 4 pandering and scrapped following Pokémon features) but with the same flawed attitude of "older fans are not our primary demographic so we shouldn't bother looking at what they like about the series" that people like Morimoto and Unno didn't have.

Maison and Tree are both better than Gen 4 and 5 battle facilities. In gen 5's case, it's a strict upgrade. In gen 4's case, you miss out on some gimmick modes 4 had but gain vastly increased functionality in 6 and 7.

Only Emerald's frontier was remarkably more robust than the current setup, and even then the Tree has numerous advantages over it.

You can wish what you want: just don't lie. People who actually get the symbols are a super minority. Many want them in the game just to have them in the game, play them 4 or 5 times, then forget about it.

What? There is literally nothing fun about the battle tree. Nothing at all. It's annoying, it's frustrating, it gets boring fast and it's repetitive as well, and this is coming from someone who spends his postgame time in SM running around in a circle to receive differently colored shitmons for collector purposes because there is literally nothing else to do.

Well given the majority of newer players complete the story, maybe one postgame quest, and are done, it'll remain that way. It's catered to new people, they don't care about the people who would rather play emerald on an emulator. Most of the "postgame" is online battles and trading now, something that is dead in older titles or not possible (gen 3 and prior).

You could really catch 'em all postgame besides exclusives, starters and most legendaries. The latter two were available in HGSS

The Battle Island itself was quite large for postgame.

I only really miss Pokestar studios and the guaranteed shiny prizes for dex completion and tower/tree completion. And maybe Join Avenue, although the discount version is passable enough.

Never really cared for the frontier.
