I think it's too much of a stretch to think from this pattern alone that we'll be getting some wholly new basis for a Pokemon game. Would be cool if we got something very different, like maybe a more story focused thing (or more open world even) with the same mainline game mechanics. Something that is then not a remake, but not an updated Sun/Moon either.

Yes, i know. But me bringing up my thinking sparked this discussion, and hopefully we might get a little closer to understanding how they actually operate
