A have a bunch, but my shiny hunting journey itself is a story. Not many people are aiming for a shiny living dex, but I'm 439 physical self-obtained entries (with 3 of those being Wi-Fi events) finished out of 802.

There was an article floating around last year about someone who supposedly completed the first ever Shiny Living Dex, hunting for 3 years since X/Y came out.

I've been hunting about that same exact time, pre- and post-Charm in X/Y, and I've been using every technique possible (random encounters, REs w/ Repel Trick, Friend Safari, MM, but never PokeRadar), and of course every method in ORAS. I've gotten a few full-odds pre-Gen 6 like Joltik in White 2 and as far as 5 shinies in Emerald, but I'd say it's been since the 1st week when X/Y came out officially, with Gurdurr, Lickitung in a horde, Goomy and Pumpkaboo being my first full-odds in those games.

I was travelling from the 8.gym town downwards to the black town. i accidently ran into the grass and it popped up.
Shiny fucking absol.
i threw a pokeball at it and it went in.
shit IV, semi-okay nature (naughty), but fuck i love her for now 6 years.
Her daugther will be in my new comp team, and the old girl will be chilling at the pelago, eating beans all day

In addition in the SOS department, even though there's no official info about the odds in 1-70 I can say I've seen too many shinies in that period for it to be full odds
so I don't think it just "jumps" at 70

There was datamined data, so we do know the odds. However you are possibly correct, I think I may have made it incorrectly misleading by saying that it jumps. That's not strictly true I think, you're correct that it's more of a gradual increase in odds, until 70. I'll see if I can find the exact data on it to make the next update more specific.

RBY hunting is garbage. Takes a full minute/minute and a half to catch, check stats, and reset, and there's no way to increase your odds. At least you can get infinite master balls in RB (and Y, but it takes a lot longer) and you can guarantee the proper nature.

I False Swiped a shiny that knew Take Down, and it used Secret Power and i caught it.

I saw Junichi Masuda at a grocery store in Osaka yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Shiny Charms in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to have a complete Pokedex first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the charms and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any shiny infetterence,” and then turned around and flashed an Oval Charm at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each charm and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yelling "hahaha i dont really know" really loudly.

The first time I played through Crystal, my Extreme Speed Dratini was shiny. Except because I'd only ever caught shiny Gyarados before, Shiny Dratini is only a slightly different color, and the shitty GBC screen made that difference even harder to recognize, I didn't realize this for ages. I had assumed the sparkle effect/stars on the status screen were because it had a special move. Plus I kept it as a Dratini/Dragonair for ages since I don't like Dragonite as much. When I finally evolved it I felt stupid as hell, but also lucky as fuck. My first trophymon.

I also found a shiny Weedle in my SoulSilver nuzlocke but it was on my way to Mr. Pokemon so I had no way to capture it
I guess this current hunt is to reclaim it?

To me it's lucky. All of my MMs have been over 500+ eggs this generation. My fastest hunt was an accidental penta Modest Bulbasaur in 3 eggs trying to get a hexaperfect male, but it was in Gen 6.

Yea I am but I still have to hunt for it. My luck is so fucking dumb I always get the shinies when I don't want to and don't get them when I'm actually searching. Just managed to get a dream ball grimer from the stinky GTS and breed it with one of my mons to make it brave and bam on the second egg this girl appeared. I'm happy but at the same time I have this bad taste in my mouth of a bad shiny but its fine it happened before to get mons without the desired ability so I'll keep going.

It would restart your seed. but there's always a chance that the shiny could be in the next box with the original seed. It would be best to just take the karp out so you avoid this and making the hunt longer for yourself.

I started off with a Jap Friend ball Magikarp with shit IVs. Got a 6 IV one out of it and released the foreign one by accident

Got a few shinies out of it, and felt like I could or should be getting more eggs than I do for future eggs. Thought the German Ditto + a new Jap Magikarp would mean 100% eggs every cycle. I realized it didn't and went back to the 6 IV one

Got tired of seeing the Friend ball, so I caught a Magikarp in my favorite; Heal Ball. Bred back to 6 IVs, and that's where I am now

Breeding up an abra army and only one nature left I didn't have.
It just did not want to give me it, but in the process one of them was a shiny.

It's my first shiny and I am keeping it (and it's got a neutral nature, so if I wanted to use it I could) but I'm not exactly thrilled about it.

Well you see even though they abuse RNG it's not like they are "cheating" the shiny. The karp that hatches shiny is still hardly found. The main advantage is reduced egg cycles gender and ability control.
Sure I believe the shiny seed is weird. I preferred the old mechanics where the shiny had a chance of being generated each egg. Shinies are still special I mean it really brings down my spirits and leaves a bad taste in mouth when I get a bad one, but when I get the one I was searching I am still overjoyed that's why I don't use the karp method because knowing you get the shiny is boring and seeing the same shiny hatching wouldn't trigger my adrenaline.

I don't really want to start this discussion but having a foreign 6iv hacked ditto as a parent doesn't really matter since the children only inherit the IV's from it. Don't get me wrong I hate cheaters but prior to gen VII I can understand people abusing this. I however have a my X version which I have it cleared in JP and pretty much get my foreign parents generated from there for multiple egg groups.
