Well, that's because Porygon actually spawns where you are. My dome is mostly Cleffers and Jigglers, which were reved up to maximum in this event.

I have better luck actually walking around (city is loaded with spawns anyway).

As >>31724975 said, if the Pokemon in your area are generally 5km Pokemon, and now suddenly they've been shifted to 2m eggs, you'll notice you're getting more 2km eggs but you're getting the same Pokemon.

Feels good living in a Chansey biome

The best theory we have right now is that when you get an egg, the game randomly picks any Pokemon, then determines the egg distance based on which Pokemon was picked. That is, first it picks randomly Lapras (with a very small chance), then it says, "Oh, it's Lapras? Better mark that one 10km".
Based on that theory, it is very likely that your chances of getting a Lapras egg from a Pokestop have not changed at all. The chances of getting an egg that has a Lapras in it are still probably less than .5%. Overall, you should actually see fewer 10km eggs, because there are fewer Pokemon that require 10km to hatch.
On the other hand, when you DO get a 10km egg, you know that you will be getting something from a much shorter list of Pokemon now, so the chances that that specific egg will be Lapras are higher than they were before.

last night i finally managed to evolve my first dragonair into a dragonite after i got 59 dratini candies from a 10km egg.

the dragonite has 95.6% perfect IVs, but it's moveset is steel wing / hyper beam

do you guys think it's worth powering up?

One of the rumors floating around is that Porygon spawns in biomes that also spawn Electric Pokemon. I don't know how true that is, but one of the stops by my local mall spawns Voltorb and Magemite every now and again, and according to my friend who works there, Porygon. He already had 4 or 5. I'd never see one there before the event but when I went yesterday by god one was there.

As for Chansey, I don't fucking know. I caught both mine on my college campus. Before the event I saw one on campus in 8 months and it ran away (>>31719029).

The only thing you can maximise on paid incubators is distance hatched per dollar so you want them on 10km eggs, not 2km eggs.

Especially since 2kms only generate Weedles and shit.

I had 2.5k coins from gyms, everything maxed already and 20 lucky eggs, so I bought some incubators, geez

I have some questions of powering up pokemon. Right now I'm lvl 29, and I feel like I have pretty weak pokemon. My best six are

1. Gyarados 2811 CP Bite/Hydro Pump
2. Vaporeon 2525 CP Water gun/Aqua Tail
3. Exeggutor 2405 CP Confusion/Solarbeam
4. Snorlax 2161 CP Lick/Body Slam
5. Rhydon 2021 CP Mud Slap/Earthquake
6. Poliwrath 2011 CP Bubble/Hydro Pump

These are, coincidentally, also the only ones I have that's over 2000 CP. I have alot of pokemon that's between 1500 - 2000 CP. Got a bit over 500k stardust. What's the consensus, if I have a good IV'd, good moveset pokemon I can just go ahead and max it?

Is Arcanine good? I have a "really strong" at 1550 CP with Bite and Fire Blast, is it worth powering up or should I wait for a better one?

I also have another Vaporeon that's in the best IV category with Water Gun and Aqua Tail that's sitting at 1799 CP, worth powering up?

And what about Slowbro sitting at around 1400 CP?

The Vaporeon is worth it.

If you have alot of eevee's in your area, start catching every single one of them. Evolve all that have high CP.

Say you get a 800 eevee. You can evolve it into a 2500 vaporeon. Just keep doing this and you can fill out your 2k+. If it has shit IV's dont worry about giving it candies.

I know this is only my anacdotal experience, but since the event started, I've acquired WAY more 2km eggs. This makes me think that the idea that the theory that suggests that "the exact Pokemon is determined when you get the egg which determines the egg km distance instead of choosing km and deciding from that km pool" is true.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I guess in theory the could have also modified the spawn rate of egg types, but I think that is unlikely.

Engaging fully evolved mons is almost asking for tears; usually low catch rate, usually shit IVs, and an annoying throw pattern required just to connect the ball to it, to say nothing of how irritating it is with bouncing balls right back at you.

Lucky i still get gastlies out the ass. The Halloween event was awesome but spawn wise horrible. I had 1000 drowzees caught entering it, tripple that of pidgey, only reason i could tell it started qas because half the bulba at rare nest turned to gastly. It was hard to fish and find dratini. Id gladly take pink shit over event more ghosts cubones and meowths
