Just did these before going to bed. First pass on an ermine fakemon, still very much work in progress. Was originally gonna be normal, but it's probably gonna be ice type instead since it's famous pure white look is a winter coat. Evolution really needs to look like a high-class lady since ermine coats were used in super fancy clothing for royalty. They often had a bunch of ermine tails hanging from their side, so I split up its tail into a similar bunch. It uses this as a fancy fan.

If finalize their designs and color them tomorrow. Let me know if there's any criticisms or ideas to help refine their designs more.

Huh. I guess Milotic's tail is kind similar. I don't think it's too bad tho. It's supposed to look like a bunch of decorative ermine tails that are often added to fur coats (pic related), and coincidentally a fan to make it look more ladylike. I could make its tail split further down, but then it might become a bit too similar to Ninetales and lose the fan thing.
I might just get rid of it altogether and try to come up with something new. Maybe it wraps its own tail around its neck as a fancy boa scarf?

I was thinking of a two-stage line based on both snowmen and old children's toys.
The first one would be a jack-in-the-box and the second one would be a wind-up robot.
Ice/Steel. Fast attacker a la Weavile.
Thinking of an unique ability that would make its gears speed up when hit by Fire type attacks. That way, it would only have to worry about Fighting attacks.
This ability could also extended to the Klink line and Magearna.

Sure they're megas, but in ORAS/XY you have access to their mega stones by the time they evolve anyway. The argument that it'd be too OP or imbalanced for in game is moot considering that, and I can't really see any other possible reasons for it.

The grass starter is good, but it feels more like a random pokemon than a starter. It's not really cute and anthropomorphic enough in its first stage, but it's a great concept and overall execution. Just tweak it a bit to make it fit as a starter. Great final stage too, but the second stage is shit.

The fire starter has a great first and second stage but the final stage looks a bit messy. Also a minor nitpick that just kind of triggers my autism. Why are the second and third stages part poison but not the first? There's nothing about them that really looks any more poisonous than the prevo.

The water starter is just iredeemably shit all the way through and should be scrapped.

The only two dual type first stage starter EVER were bulbasaur and rowlet. The artist was probably just playing to tradition. Besides, these have been around way longer than rowlet, so when they were drawn the last time a first stage starter was dual typed was literally gen 1.

The fire snakes show nothing more poisonous than the prevo, in fact its arguably less since their fangs bend backward making them useless for injecting venom. The dex entry for the first stage also literally describes it poisoning targets.

Thanks. The Wombat is meant to evolve into an Australian cryptid called a Bunyip. The whole theme I was going for was mundane creatures becoming mythical.

i know my art sucks shit, but heres a fakemon line i've been working on.
the pre evolutions (the ones in the center) are one pokemon that changes form depending on day and night respectively. the sunfish (right) is a water/fire type made to be a bulky special attacker, while the moon fish (left) is Water/fairy type and is made to be a bulky special wall.
