May is girl with short, light brow hair.

Even if Lisia didn't fit the role, May fits it even less.

May is just a girl wearing a bandana. Its 10x much easier to cosplay as her than Lisia. Decidueye and Incineroar are just wearing clothing for their cosplays. Primarina would need a complete makeover on it's hair for a Lisia cosplay to work.

I'm having hard time believing someone is defending an idol Pokemon with blue and white color scheme dressed in as a girl with red clothes, when a much better alternative is available.

Primarina has like 3 hair accessories already (tiara,starfish,bubbles). Forcing Lisia's hair pin without redesigning Primarina's hair would make it look a bit cluttered and forced.

Because I really can't see it being executed right without completely redesigning a part of the base pokemon. Decidueye got clothes and a paint job. Incineroar got clothes and a hat. Primarina is also just wearing clothes and a bandana. A May cosplay fits better as its simple enough to not look out of place when compared with the other two.
