Does this move have any use? It seems like the only reason it's better than Splash is because it actuaply has an effect
Also I guess a thread on generally useless or overly situational moves

>better than Splash
Are you still stuck on Gen 6? Splash is a good move now.

i put it on a female sableye once to try and it fucked up a few teams.
Teleport doesn't give you a free switch in trainer battles.
It only exists because Abra does.

Look up Synchronoise. It's a psychic-type attack that only does damage if the opponent is the same type as the user. Most users are psychic type, so on the off-chance your opponent's pokemon is psychic instead of the other 17 types, this move would still be "not very effective"
I don't think these moves are meant to be used. I think Gamefreak just added them so they can wiggle our jigglies

Umbreon can use Synchronoise

Which makes it even more useless since it can only hit dark type pokemon, but is a psychic type attack, meaning the only pokemon it could hit are immune to the attack anyway.
>>31670621
Which means it can only be used on dark types
Which is a problem for a psychic move

Was that in Gen 5 VGC? Somebody top cut a tournament I was at with Female Captivate Sableye specifically for Thundurus.

But a Sigilyph can use it to hit Hawlucha Super Effective, or Bruxish can use it to hit Tentacruel super effective!
See, there are literally two extremely specific instances it could be slightly more useful than just running Psychic!
