Fire is the worst with only one starter that looks good and the rest being humans in fursuits. Grass had it's highs and lows so i'd say it takes the second place. Water is the best with only 2 starters that were absolute failures and the rest being 10/10 designs.

It's kind of hard to pick. Greninja and the Gen V starters have some pretty huge roles in deciding what are the weakest and strongest starter types. Positive influence in Greninja and Serperior's cases, and negative for Emboar and Samurott.

That being said, if GF didn't play favourites with the starters it would be harder to discern these things.

I don't have any problem with it being quadrupedal. Samurotts problem are it's proportions and its retarded magically growing swords that it can only flail with. They should've given it sword like claws instead. That way they could give it actual proportions and not something that looks like it's constipated.

Water. Primarina is legitimately the first water starter I've had any interest in.

Grass always has nice designs, even if they're not always my favorite, and Fire hits it out of the part like half the time.

Water is my favourite type and I love all the water starters so I'd want to say Fire or Grass. But that would be just mean.

Ask me a few years ago and I would have easily said fire. Never thought I'd say it, but it would probably be grass these days.

Looking at them side-by-side, I think I'll have to say Fire. They're all good overall though.

The swords aren't it's primary option for combat anyway. They're simply just extensions of it's armor, so they're mostly used for defensive purposes despite being shaped like blades.

Also Grass has got some of my favorite designs and is the most consistently solid in general, so that's my choice.

Best: Fire
Charizard's Megas, Blaziken and its Mega, Infernape was really powerful and is still decent.

2nd: Water
Greninja and Ash-Greninja, Feraligatr is okay, Primarina has a good typing.

3rd: Grass (sadly)
Mega-V is the only good one and it's just OU. Contrary Serperior is okay. Chesnaut is underrated but that's just my opinion.
