Nothing yet, I've only used normal caps on shinies and legendaries and breed the rest. So far I haven't had any mixed attackers that need one, so I'm just saving them up. I have 5 now.

IIRC the lottery and rare items/interesting items search are the only ways, and so far I've found 1 gold cap from rare items and 2 from the lottery after ~2 months of playing regularly. Normal caps can be found through lotteries, fishing, and trading 30 colored shards.

You can only get them from bubbling spots. I got quite a few from them while trying to fish for low encounter rate Pokémon like Dratini and Dhelmise. If you use the soft reset method you come across them quite often, it's probably the most efficient way to find them if you're also looking for Pokémon to fish.

I got two gold caps from the treasure hunt and got them back to back, my luck is probably used up for the next year.

As for using them, I just finished the main game so I don't have any lv100 to use them on.

btw I've heard that fishing bubbling spots on poni island is an easy way to farm silver caps, like six an hour or something.

My shiny Breloom I've had since Sapphire. Glad I lucked out on him being Adamant all those years ago.

I've gotten them back to back as well, is your Treasure Hunt 4 stars by any chance? It seems like a lot of the RNG stuff in the Plaza is a little weird, like the guarenteed bottle cap you get from 2* Treasure Hunt's first draw.

I used it on a shiny buneary I hatched long ago in Dia/Per. It has an impish nature so I gave it 6iv's and slapped an eviolite on it. Works well as a support with that fake ou/helping hand follow me stuff. Good for shenanigans and can take hits from mega kang.
