"What bitch"

All the UBs, and Solgaleo/Lunala, learn their levelup moves at intervals of prime numbers. Their base stats are also prime.
I dunno what the significance is, but N's battle music also has much to do with prime numbers.
Actually.... Is N a UB? That would explain his math skills, ability to talk to pokémon, how he was found randomly in a forest as a child, and his general weirdness.
>>31639760
Choice Band only boosts your Attack stat. Only field conditions, abilities and STAB can change the BP of your moves. A Tapu Bulu after a Bulk Up will hit just as hard as a Banded Bulu.

All the Gen V starters were designed to abuse their HA: Serperior has low offensive stats while being a bit bulky and very fast while having Contrary, Emboar has the highest HP of all the starters while having the most amount of recoil moves to abuse Reckless, finally Samurott has high HP and decent to use well Shell Armor (lol)

So far, Deoxys and Arceus are the only Mythical Legendaries with their own themes (Deoxys' theme appears in Emerald and ORAS, Arceus' theme appears during the battle that never happened in Platinum and during the creation of Dialga/Palkia/Giratina egg in HGSS)
Gladion's battle theme is very similar to the fugitive theme of PMD 1, considering that Gladion is also a fugitive.

Some stuff about Zygarde:
There's some interesting stuff to be found when you look at Zygarde's stats, particularly the changes between forms.
Zygarde 50%'s BST is 600. Its stats are:
108
100
121
81
95
95
There's a noticeable trend where mons that have high HP stats will often be have large bodies, be round, bulbous, stocky, etc. HP seems to loosely correlate to body mass. See Snorlax, Slaking, Wobbuffet, Guzzlord, Chansey, Reuniclus, etc. On the other end of the scale, Ghost types often have very low base HP because most of them lack a solid body.
Zygarde has a high HP stat because it's a large, bulky snake that's made up of lots of little parts. This theme continues with its other forms. Their stats, for comparison:
10% - 54 HP / 100 Attack / 71 Defense / 61 Special Attack / 85 Special Defense / 115 Speed
50% - 108 HP / 100 Attack / 121 Defense / 81 Special Attack / 95 Special Defense / 95 Speed
100% - 216 HP / 100 Attack / 121 Defense / 91 Special Attack / 95 Special Defense / 85 Speed
Complete form has 2x the base HP as 50% form because it's made of twice as many cells. 10% form has exactly half the base HP of 50% form instead of 1/5th (probably for balance reasons).
Then, looking at the other stats, Complete form has a BST of 708 instead of 680 like you'd expect of a "proper legendary." 10 is taken from Speed and moved to Special Attack, because it becomes heavier, slower, and stronger.
Looking at 50% to 10%, it loses 50 from Defense and 10 from Special Defense, then 20 is moved from Special Attack to Speed - the Speed difference is twice as much as 50% to Complete form's.
I don't really get the changes to Zydog's stats. Halving 50% form's HP follows the theme, but they could have easily given it base 10 HP and a blazing Speed stat. It loses defenses because it's a speed-focused attack form, and it loses Special Attack where Complete form gains it. More cells = more Special Attack power. Maybe this is why Core Enforcer is a special move?
>>31647222
Cont.
Looking at this stuff is interesting because it can give you some insight into how the dev team thinks. Just looking at Zygarde, you can guess that the 50% form was created first, and the other two forms were finalized and given their stat allocations later. If they had been made at the same time, Complete form probably would have had 680 BST.
The stats are allocated to follow a theme. The pattern is prioritized, rather than anything else. Some mons are clearly given special treatment with their stats, while others are just given what might make sense flavour-wise. Look at Garchomp or the Genies, who get trolly Speed stats, then look at all of the Ice types who get shitty stats because it makes sense based on their appearance.
Bump. Good thread.
Every odd-numbered generation introduces a 2 stage grass type mushroom pokemon that learns spore.
Gen 1: Paras and parasect
Gen 3: Shroomish and breloom
Gen 5: Foongus and amoongus

There are only two ice types that have over 100 speed and special attack simultaneously,Greninja and Arceus.

In every appearance, Spiritomb's had something to do with the number 108, the amount of souls it's made out of. In OR/AS, you could find it in Sea Mauville, on the 108th route.
108 is also a number associated with reaching nirvana in Buddhism.
>>31639997
This is the correct answer, every other translation in this thread is shit or comes from people that don't speak spanish regularly
In most translations of its name, Audino translates roughly to the phrase "I dunno", or something similar
Hydreigon was originally going to be a cyborg dragon resembling a tank, but it was scrapped. The tank tread-like markings on its belly are a remnant of that design.
Tornadus was originally going to be red to contrast with Thundurus's blue.
When you throw a ball in SuMo usually your pokemon disappears for the throw animation (showing only your trainer and wild poke)
BUT on a critical catch it will also INCLUDE your own poke facing the wild encounter in the throw animation.
My guess is that all 3 were initially there but removed your own poke for slowdown control, forgetting to take it out of a critical catch instance.
In almost EVERY language of the game except English, his name is some form of Handsome. Even his English name refers to how attractive to he is, though in a more subtle way i.e. "What a Looker"
All of the Gen 7 starters have a type immunity.
>>31648411
>looker
>attractive
What did they mean by this?
>>31640475
Yes, but its not as offensive as calling someone a fag in english might be. I may be wrong since I learned spanish through my guatemalan dad.
In Sun and Moon, the pseudolegend and the common early game Normal have the same base 110 attack.
In fact, out of all the fully evolved Fighting types introduced in Sun and Moon, Kommo-o actually has the LOWEST attack of the lot. Passimian, Crabominable, Pheromosa, Buzzwole, Marshadow, and Bewear all have more attack than Kommo-o.

Sandshrew, Jigglypuff, Zubat, Psyduck, Abra, Machop, Geodude, Magnemite, Rhyhorn, Horsea, Goldeen, Staryu, Pinsir, and Magikarp are the only Pokémon that can be caught in at least one game of each Gen.
Wild Kricketot and Shinx only appear in Gen 4 (Luxio and Kricketune appear instead in future games). Starting Gen 6 the only way to get either of them is breeding their evolved forms.
Excluding Legendaries, Glameow and Stunky lines are the hardest Pokémon to find for completing the National Pokédex, only appearing in DP, B2W2, and Gen 6.
