Were they a mistake?
>>31636343
Blue is kinda hot
>>31636352
I'm not judging but... i'm judging.
>>31636352
Fishfucker get outbut I agree that blue is superior
>literally designed to be generic
>...so generic in fact that gf fucked up their gimmick in their very first game
>...not that it matters, since adaptability is obviously superior anyway
>Not Water/Dark
>>31636343
They're my favorite of all small fish Pokemn, so no, they weren't a mistake.
>>31636343
Needed a cross gen evolution.
Or a mega evolution.
>>31636401
Not everything needs an evolution.
>>31636343
Pretty sure GF said Basculin was thrown in cause they didn't have a fish Pokemon to fill the waterways with. It should've been given a Mega-evo to make it a bit better.
>>31636409
Thanks for reminding me that fact.
>>31636401
Hate to break it to you lad, but I doubt Pokémon with alternate forms will ever have megas.
Too much coding for GF to handle.
>>31636425
Latias and Latios pretty much have the same mega with different colored eyes tho? Not that hard to make 1 Mega for them to share that changed enough to pass for both.
>>31636425
>implying they wouldn't just share a mega with no differences
>>31636343
No, you are a mistake OP.
>>31636343
No but not having a serpent evolution was
>>31636343
Literally my mom's gang members in constant gang wars.
>>31636343
Nah, I like them.
I always forget this thing exists until someone reminds me
>>31636343
not their greatest addition. thrown in at the last stage of development or so I've heard.
>>31636425
They'd probably just share it, like Garchomp.
>>31636817
Yeah. It was literally "we don't have a standard fish Pokemon so we better put one in."
I don't care for it, but it's not the worst.
>>31636417
Not everything needs an evolution.
>>31636343
Literally yes. They were thrown in at the last minute because they realized they had forgotten to make generic fish.
>>31636343
Would've been redeemed if they were given this evolution, Water/Dragon.
Maybe you could evolve it by fainting an alternate colour Basculin in the wild? And have both appear in the same game with a 99% and 1% encounter rate in the water.
>>31636962
forgot pic
>>31636962
I really liked the idea of trading them both with Dragon scale. You BOTH would get a part of Water/Dragon mon that have ability they become one if used in doubles.
>>31636343
>98 speed
>92 atk
>adaptability
No. They were pretty good in game pokémon.
>>31636977
That could work well too, specific trade evos were an interesting Gen 5 thing.
Considering how Samurott is shit, and I didn't want to use a Jellicent or a Seismitoad to avoid repeating types, these two were a godsend.
>>31636998
This.
>>31636962
Not everything needs an evolution.
>>31636998
Would they be similar to bruxish then? Bruxish is pretty good, sadly these fish don't have a secondary typing. At least they can get stuff like superpower I guess.
I like that this guy flys under the radar.
Adaptability Basculin in showdown random always puts in mad amounts of work.
>>31636343
fakemon are alwasys a mistake, op
>>31636425
Schooling Mega that's just a mess of both types of Basculin fighting it out and eventually hitting the enemy
>>31636638
But anon, I don't see scrafty anywhere in this thread.
