When it comes to playing the remakes. In the scenario where all starters go into hall of fame. So say RBY, Saur Zard and Stoise survive, what do you do in FRLG? Use them until you don't have to?

The cool thing about playing all versions back to back is seeing the small (and the not so small) differences and noting how things progressed.

The UI is so much cleaner in emerald comparing to Ruby/Sapphire. Also, the first lvl2 zigzagoon you fight have a oran berry in Emerald and not in RS. Also i got wiped by a lvl4 zigzagoon in my first encounter because he critted me two turns straight and then moved faster in the last turn. That's quite embarassing.

First of all don't despair. It's specially hard on gen 01 because there are so much less items around. Plan your captures well - if you can hang on with only two pokemon for a while then ignore some routes till you can get something better later. Your pokeballs are worth gold. Also if you use a parity clause, always grind everyone to the max level possible before E4. I tried my best to save my items and i still didnt had nearly enough during it so i was clenching my a-hole in fear the entire time. It was worth though, its fun and you feel really accomplished when you finally beat it.

Things get better when you reach gen III and abilities. A bunch of zigzagoons on your first routes might look like bad luck but when they start picking up ultra balls and super potions you're going to love the little buggers

i'm kinda screwed now because against all odds my linoone actually survived the entire game and the E4 so the entire lineage retires. i know meowth have pickup in FRLG but they're not nearly as avaliable. eh i'll manage

Made it out of the forest somewhat unscathed (RIP Oy Vey.) TheCarrier evolved in there as well, so he's not as much of a deadbeat as he was before. Defeated Gardenia no problem with GB2/mlp/.

if you abuse PMCs and have someone with a healing ability i can see it being possible

the only moment you go for a long stretch without a source of healing nearby is really the E4

I'm playing White 2 Challenge Mode and I lost my Mienshao to Ghetsis.
I don't know what to do, everything else in the box already shares at least one type with the rest of my team members, the only exception being a Liepard that I've used before. I'm planning on using it again, but it'll probably die quickly.
I didn't catch anything on Route 23 because it gave me a Mienfoo. Should I just use Liepard or hang on until Victory Road and see what I can find over there?

Magnezone was pretty beat up but not enough that my other surviving mon, a shiny Ribombee could tackle it on her own.

The real luck was when my Ribombee managed to beat his Ninetails for the win afterwards.

Is it still a fuzzy nuzzy if I make my virbank complex catch a Koffing despite whatever my first encounter is?

Well you're in trouble then. I always found Tepig at level 13 with Defense Curl was the best option for Cheren. Tepig in general gets you out of the early game really easily, but later on you basically need to pray you get a decent Water or Grass type for Clay.

So i came out with a new idea for a locke

Smogonlocke

You must run one hit KOs and Double Team/Minimize/Swagger in every pokemon that can run it

You can't capture and use any pokemon that can learn stealth rock

Iris' last Pokémon was Lapras and the rest of my team was weak, so I had to send Liepard out. He got hit by Thunder once and didn't KO Lapras at first (Iris healed it again). But he dodged two Blizzards and won the league for me.

Sudowoodo is legit in GSC, it's just that Geodude is better and earlier for a Nuzlocke.

What fake tree has over gollum in Gen 2 is actually getting Rock Slide.

Rock types tend to be really good in Nuzlockes, I've had so many on my final teams because their few resists are often crucial. I've even used Aurorus in a Wedlocke, AND had it live to the end.

Surprisingly easy, actually. There are a lot of unique catch areas, so you can have a full team and some casualties before leaving the first island. The totem pokemon are difficult, if you don't get the right catches. Always remember, before you leave the aether foundation for the first time, have a counter to alolan Raichu for your lead.
