Well Gold attacks are kind of rare and usually smaller on the disk, and positionally you can avoid the ones with gold attacks unless you've made like, an all Gold purple-hate list, in which case you're going to lose to meaty white attacks. Thought process:
Pikachu is main attacker (sliver of a miss & fairly strong moves)
Squirtle is defense (withdraw)
Delphox is attack/defense (pretty strong/can burn & hyperspace respectively)
Bayleef is attacker/weakener (poison & body slam)
Raikou is backup attacker
Genesect is rusher/attacker (just got him so I'm testing the waters)

Usual starting formation is:

I use Wobbuffet as my goal defender. Truth be told, I get a miss about 2 out of 10 times. It's a rare occurrence. Status effects are pointless on him and he's the killer of the pokemon with huge attack power that you can't defeat normally. He's pretty beastly imo

In the flying/ice type league event that they pulled after a few minutes, they would have 3mp because all flying types got 1+mp (unless they were already 3mp)

In addition, ice types got a boost in attack, meaning Articuno could now move 3mp and had 90/110 attacks as well as the ability to freeze two opponents

can anyone tell me if you can still win with shitty pokemon like squirtle/bulbasaur/charmander against someone using a team full of ex's? is the game balanced so all pokemon can be pretty good if leveled up fully so you can use your favorite pokes online instead of just cookie cutter uber teams like in the rpg?

I'd say that you can win pretty well with your favourites yeah. Some pokemon are just better (and if the new legendary birds are any indication then power creep is going to be a serious factor in the future) but the general interaction between white/purple/gold/blue attacks and the fact that you can never guarantee the outcome of a roll keeps any one pokemon from dominating your team.

My playstyle is fast and aggressive. Block opponent's movements, rush for every points, I usually hurdle jump to grab a point at the same time as surround killing an outside lane. Forcing the opponent into defensive usually then bags the second entry point or causes a mistake. Sometimes I rush goal if opp messes up. I have Ho-Oh and Magmortar among others which I see others using and wonder if I should include but the difference between mp 2 and 3 just seems so huge. Honestly, I don't know if I need shuppet but bcs is so good with itsometimes stealing games or clutch surrounding.

Can booster coupons be stacked to redeem bigger packs, or can they only be redeemed for single packs?

Shuppet ruins so much of this game, its not even funny.

When I use a plate, does it actually use one up, or just for the current game I am in? (is using a plate permanent)

Mew is iffy. Vanish is obviously horrific. Sometimes helpful, but without control over it obviously no good. His giant yellow move is sweet though, and I use him mainly as a special killer. Would replace with Greninja in a heartbeat, but still better than any non-EX 3MP I've tried. Keldeo suffers from not having Mew's edge over statusmons, but can pretty easily pick off early mons with an X-Attack boost. Importantly, Hydro Kick 'beats' big 70 attackers like Lugia and Salamence by Hurricane-ing them to the bench, which is huge in establishing early dominance and setting up profitable Hurdle Jumps. Loses relevance in late game though. Genesect and Leafeon are definitely by go-to leads, but Keldeo and Mew still pull their weight, and our deceptively strong. As I stated, I see a lot of power in 3MPs, as it applies early pressure and allows a mon to jump straight from entry to goal, so any decently-statted 3 is big imo. If I had Lati@s or Greninja, I would probably remove them.

Leafeon is fucking great. A 3mp Pokemon with such a high dodge/purple move rate is a godsend, and people tend to forget that it can slip through grass types, which can let you get the goal really easily sometimes. If you're lucky, you can put the opponent to sleep too, and pass through them too. Definitely been one of my fave Pokemon to use
