Even though it's objectively the weakest starter besides maybe pre-contrary Serperior, I still loved the challenge of fighting through Johto with him the 1st time.
Who was your favourite green companion?
>>31599355
>Mfw Meganius was not actually that shitty mon than i thought.
Surprised by a lot also Cyndaquill just does nothing and can be easily countered.
>>31599494
I was talking about rival Cyndaquill.
I believe we can all agree that Chesnaught is the only objectively shit grass starter.
>>31599522
I mean agreed, but check Decidueye out as well. Even with an HP/SA Spirit Shackle build, I haven't seen him used competitively well enough
>>31599545
>Decidueye
>objectively shit
Fuck off.
Here comes the coolest one. He can shoot a christmas tree out of his rear for fucks sake.

Came here to post this

I love Chesnaught, but he really was kind of underwhelming even just in my in-game team. I'm still finishing the main story in Moon, and Decidueye isn't performing well either. I miss the Serperior and Torterra days when I had a reliable grassbro.
>>31599545
The typing really lets it down. Trapping doesn't mean shit if so much if the type chart wouldn't mind staying in. The only way this thing could've stayed relevant is if Spirit Shackle hit fleeing enemies too.
Best starter ever
>no mention of the most based grass starter
>rock polish into fucking you up with eq
feels goodman

Chesnaught was really good for ingame I found, and I've used it twice. Sceptile in ORAS is surprisingly good too, the benefit of having actual attacks this time and a decent Mega really helped.
Serperior is pretty bad ingame until you get Coil.
Chesnaught and Sceptile are my favourites, followed by Torterra.
>>31599924
Hm, maybe I'm remembering differently or I played differently. I did like how hard Chesnaught hits, but Sceptile has always been to frail for me. Serperior always took good hits for me too. I guess I like tanky grassbros. Torterra is my ultimate favorite for that reason. I thought Decidueye would dethrone it since owls are my favorite animal but...
Chesnuaght is best bromon
best starter
See, I was never in the "treecko sucks" camp in Gen III. He took a while to get going, but once you got leaf blade you pretty much won. I'd rather have a starter that starts off a bit weak but finishes strong over a starter that does the opposite (like, piplup, who just ends up being a meat shield towards the end of DP).
SNEK
>>31601309
I find this thread's lack of snek disturbing.
Is Decidueye a nu-male?
>>31599355
Sceptile and Torterra were cool but Serperior is still my favorite grass starter. It's my favorite gen 5 starter as well and I like to keep one in my main competitive team.
I tried to like Serperior but it just wasn't very useful until it got coil. Overall I had better time simply using the Lilligant that should have been his back-up. Shame since I prefer it design-wise over the other two. I'm glad he's finally getting to shine as a solid cleaner now though.
grass is best type
Good thread
Venusaur and Torterra a best
Sceptile is cool, too
Meganium and Serperior are alright
