Personally, I also liked XY more, but I imagine that's because it was new game. I have been playing Hoenn games for 10 years, so obviously I'd find them less enjoyable than a new set of games. I still enjoyed ORAS though, so I don't agree it was SNORE-ASS.

ORAS was a mistake. Kalos forever.

Played through both simultaneously.

Badges came way faster in ORAS.

Currently running through it again to get the last few legends.

ORAS is a lot better. It doesn't have those annoying "friends" stopping you every 5 seconds and better features like Dexnav and soaring.

Same. I even played ORAS first, so it wasn't a matter of novelty of a 3D game.
I found XY much more enjoyable and "full": the 3D transition wasn't kind to Hoenn.

Good point. What looked nice on the GBA looks kind of empty and barren when converted into 3D.

(Although looking at that bottom GBA picture now, I'm kind of confused about wtf the perspective is supposed to be.)

I liked the ability to catch all the legendaries I missed or even get some doubles. It made great leverage for trading on the GTS. The flying mechanic was fun and, compared to RS, it was much more fun with the day/night cycle, flying mechanic, better graphics and improved gameplay. Really wish it had the battle frontier though.

Gen 6 got a lot of unwarranted hate in general. Now S/M on the other hand...
