This is your problem.
VGC is pick 3/4 of the big ten, then add in your anti-meta sprinkle.

Do keep this in mind, but know what you are looking for. Don't just splash a meme mon, only splash it if absolutely nothing else can offer what it does in a relevant fashion.

Leave before you hurt yourself.

The first step to becoming good at VGC, is to get good at the actual game first. Grab a stock team, read about the most common pokemon and play that team until you know every matchup inside out.

Once you have an understanding about what is good and bad and are able to make plays/predictions, you can start team building.

Seriously just play smogon. It was made for people like you who want to use weird shit.

This, pretty much; it isn't completely true that unusual Pokémon can't work well; even the most centralised metagames have major tournaments won by surprise picks. The problem is that 90% of people trying to make gimmicks work are shit players who don't understand how and when to implement niche picks into a team.
>>
>>31581317

to be honest just drop VGC they are shit, no bans, stupid limits, shit in general, everyone are using what is the best at the moment

I mean, I'm guilty of this myself; I recently tried to fit Scarf Smeargle with circle throw + Anger Point Tauros onto a Team.

It's utter jank, but at least I'm aware of how jank it is.
