Samurott's design has intriguing elements but was poorly executed- they should have designed it in a way that allowed it to more freely move outside of water, and have more developed legs, able to be both quadruped or biped.

I love how multifaceted Blaziken's origins are. From simple stuff like Pheonix and cockfighting, it also takes inspiration from Ra and Horus, the Basan (a fire-breathing chicken in japanese folklore,) amongst potentially others. It's just so steeped in lore that I love it for it. It also helps that it was before Fire/Fighting became such a headache.

Charizard with a bit different, but great color scheme. The flames coming out of mouth, the ridged wings, the spikes, everything about this is supposed to be "cool" in the same sense people find characters like Batman's design cool.

Personally, I like it a lot. It's edgy, but done in a right way, in my opinion. I just love the color scheme the most. Just looking at it is pleasing to the eyes. It could've been better, but I think they did a good job with it.
