Only /vp/ seems to like him. Charizard is probably the everyday answer. Fug is my second fav tho

I think Rayquaza's design is a cluttered mess personally, but I'm concerned to say it most threads because of the backlash.

Both Pokemon in pic related are the only actual answers. Everyone loves Charizard or Blastoise. Pikachu would also fit, but it's actually hated by a lot of people too. Not everyone likes Charizard and Blastoise, but not many actually dislike them either.
Fug isn't as popular outside of /vp/.

I dunno about "more" but I've never really seen anyone that disliked Scizor, Volcarona and recently Mimikyu. Those may just be wishful thinking though.

It isn't much of an excuse, but they did fuck up Charizard the most before Gen VI, despite being pretty much the face of Pokemon, along with Pikachu. Only Megas made it usable. No matter how many people it might've made happy, giving it two Megas was a bit much.

I don't know about putting people off though. Fan reaction was overall extremely positive when ZardX got revealed, and it was still positive when it was shown to be a ridemon. To some, it might be annoying just seeing Zard, but it isn't shoved in you face like Lucario was. Even when it got two Megas, they didn't force you to pick Charmander, unlike Lucario.

Rayquaza is my favorite legendary. I don't like his mega evolution though and wishe he got a primal instead because it sounds cooler and I don't hate groudon and kyogres alternate forms

Plus the fucker makes completing the Alola dex impossible if your friends aren't available to trade with you, since everyone wants a goddamn Level 100 Tyranitar for a Porygon2. I would know, I traded my Level 100 Tyranitar for a shiny Porygon2. I already had a shiny Porygon Z, I was desperate and it was never going to be used anyway.
