MLP is actually a decent kid's show I would put a kid in front of because they might actually learn something substantive about friendship. Seriously, break down MLP without the bronie shit getting in the way and it's a well-made kid's show.

Pokemon doesn't teach jack shit other than what plushies and candy the kid wants their parents to buy and maybe some vague "friendship is good" theme if you wanted to be very forgiving.

I'd say undertale is definitely more cancerous. There's nothing redeemable about it. The artwork is terrible, the music is poorly produced and amateuristic, the story is tumblr bait and the gameplay itself is just a horrible attempt at danmaku. At least MLP has some value as a kids' show.

The games sometimes do things different. The anime is an endless recursion of the same plot points with only some supporting cast changed occasionally.

I do watch specials like Origins and Generations though, since those are short and usually have different tones than the Ashnime.

I've told people before that I'd go back to watching the Ashnime again if Ash won a non-filler league or finally evolved his yellow rat into better orange rat, but neither of those have happened and we all know they never will happen. The SM anime looks like it stopped trying altogether, really, though I acknowledge some people claiming it looks better in motion, can't really judge there since I'm not going to sit down and watch more than Episode 1 of it.
