I like Volcarona a lot, it's my third favourite Fire type and favourite from Unova.

I have mine made with even numbered HP with a sitris berry to specifically come into rocks and always be in a healthy-ish state. It honestly works out incredibly well.

Even if rocks aren't an issue, then sitris still isn't really a bad item to have.

I know, but those only pop when you're at a quarter health. You'd have to take a fairly weak hit to have it prock.

Not a bad option, but I'd rather have the guaranteed sitris prock at 50% and be at 75%, rather than MAYBE have it prock at around 25% or less to get back up to the same amount of health.

Think of it this way. if you run the confusion berries, you come in at 50% and stay there...THEN you gotta hope you don't take a hit that deals more than that. At least with sitris, you come it and get right up to 75 instantly. It gives you THAT much more leeway to set up and sweep.

IMO it's better to just run Firium-Z and Giga Drain. It heals well, and Inferno Overdrive can KO stuff that would otherwise be a problem. Sitrus is the sort of thing that is a hindrance because you're trying to do too many things at once. Either go all-out offense, or run Defog support.

Volcarona is easily one of Gamefreak's best designs ever. It achieves mass appeal even from hardcore genwunners, on virtue of being well-designed.

I wish Pokemon got rebooted and only kept like the 250 best ones, while removing all the redundants and shitmons.

Thank fuck for that. Big appeal of it's design is looking like an actual moth and not like some costume that tries to look overly cute and appealing to tumblrfags. Also one of the many reasons why I like UBs like Buzzwole, Nihilego. and Xurkitree, designs don't need oversized animu eyes to be good.

To be really fair, that situation was in gen 5, and it was justified. Unlike moltres, charizard and the plethora of bug/flying shitmons, volcarona was OU despite stealth rock, and it was the only reason it didn't rais to ubers. The other didn't make the cut despite sneaky pebbles (it was actually tested, and no pokemon with x4 weakness to rock actually rised, except based moth)
Then bravest bird came around and the megas, so charizard is actually good now.

This is unironically my favorite Pokemon. It's just so good.
