why did the mega get sand force and not sand rush

I just found out my old plat garchomp from like 6 or 7 years ago is modest. How is special attacking chomp? Earth power/draco meteor or pulse/fire blast/??? With life orb or mega stone. Sounds like it could be fun/interesting

That said, the mega is still actively worse than just keeping it normal with Sand Veil and giving it a better item.
