Nah, you don't need to go through the whole CFW install to export/import saves. Just being able to get in the Homebrew Launcher is enough and all that takes is a few files on your SD card - nothing is installed.

Bank no pentagon = banned from ranked and VGC, OK in free battles
Bank + pentagon = banned from VGC, ok in ranked and free battles
