Sun and Moon have the worst story and the worst region so far. Everything about online play and raising Pokémon is downgraded from ORAS. Customization is back, but somehow worse than in X and Y. The postgame is still terrible.

The only things I can find to like about these games are the Ride Pokémon and the Poké Pelago.

Poni Canyon was the only real Dungeon in the game

Some trials are throw aways that barely do shit, Lana's should've been the entire area not just specifically the Totem.

The totem battles were great but Totem Vikavolt was retarded making it a physical attacker.

Expshare all shouldn't be %50, the game was built for expshare but you will still find yourself Overleveled, and if you play without it the difficulty spikes will force you to grind

Somebody forgot level capping, Hapu's levels were fine, but dropping Totem Kommo-o to 45 was dumb

Other than that the game was fine, the main adventure was also fantastic. I like the fact that Hau's Ula Ula Battle was an actual spike and kicked my ass wth his Raichu

Also telling you which patch of grass you can find Pokémon was neat

Some people say it's linear but the presentation of the game makes me not give a shit, it was very well done

the cutscenes are the biggest let down of this game. I like games with intriguing stories and a lot of cutscenes, I really do, but usually the entire game is built around this characteristic. Pokémon on the other WAS NEVER meant to have 5 minute long cutscenes, so it definitely takes a lot away from the gameplay. SOS battles are also a terrible fuck up and good example of good idea and bad execution (seems like GameFreak is an expert in these)

I thought everything in the main game felt good and cohesive, but this really was one of the least feature rich Pokemon games since Gen 1.

SOS battles aren't as bad as people say they are. The amount of setup for EV training through it is certainly more than Super Training, meaning you're not going to be able to take full advantage of it right from the start. However, once you figure everything out and get prepared, it's simple to consistently max out stats in a short span of time for the rest of the game. SOS battles also offer other conveniences like being able to battle multiple Pokémon in the same family, which is great for farming rare held items like Magmarizers and Electirizers using Thief. Catching a few Pokémon of the same species with good natures and perfect IVs in four stats also makes breeding for the perfect Pokémon far easier.

However, I do have complaints with the game.
>No National Pokédex, yet 84 non-Alolan Pokémon can be obtained through Island Scan, on top of the demo Greninja
>The game is offensively railroaded until the third island, and even then it's still pretty linear
>Your character's expression almost never changes even in the most dire of circumstances
>Version-exclusive Trainers (Dexio and Kiawe for Sun, Sina and Mallow for Moon) is stupid
>Having to choose to battle Red OR Green is stupid
>There's a lot of missing content that feels like it was purposely removed for the third version
>No Trainer rematches
>Festival Plaza was a restrictive, half-baked idea that could have been implemented far better
>The game runs terribly even on a New 3DS and it doesn't even HAVE 3D
>The Poké Finder wasn't fleshed out at all and the only reason to use it is for the passport stamp
>I got through the first three islands just fine without the Exp. Share, but from there until the end, it feels like you need it
