How long until N64 romdev becomes feasible? I want to make a homeconsole Pokemon RPG using N64 resources from games like Stadium/2, Snap, and other games like OoT/MM and SSB.
Modeling Fakemon for it won't be a problem, the N64 models are so lowpoly and simple the biggest deal would be textures.
I guess the biggest undertaking of this would be programming an actual Pokemon engine for N64.

I don't know about that, but I've been thinking about creating/reimagining My Pokémon Ranch as a homebrew on the 3DS. I love that stupid game.
Bump because this is interesting to me

The battle engine could easily be stolen from Stadium/2. The most programming dev would go towards the base rpg mechanics and developing an actual overworld

I did not know how much I wanted this until you said it.

The best N64 one that I know of is Banjo's Backpack, which is a Banjo-Kazooie level editor/creator. Dunno how relevant that is, but it at least shows that the potential to make N64 ROMs your bitch is there.

Very reminiscent of G1 both in artstyle and design, and I really like a lot of them. I would be hype to see these in a rom hack, especially one as ambitious as this.
