OP here. Let me list a few things for me to make it sure that these abominations should be forgotten.

First things first, the grass snake (Serperior)

Pokémon already has a huge amount of snakes, and now they make a grass one. Steelix, Arbok, Gyarados, Serviper, and a whole bunch more wasn't enough. Yeah, he has a pretty good design, but not for a starter.

Next, the fire pig (Emboar)

>the third fire/fighting type in a row, how original (doesn't even deserve to be in the same tier as Blaziken and Infernape)

Samurott is actually pretty decent. I kinda like him, seriously, but oshawott doesn't have nothing to do with him. So yeah... He's pretty cool. Still not the best water starter. Greninja and Empoleon are pretty ahead of him.

Servine is pretty good but not anything exceptional, emboar is actually a good design if you can get past the whole "3rd firefighting starter in a row) thing, and sammurott is just world's biggest waste of potential ever.

Overall, not bad, but nothing to write home about. Gen 7's starters were the weakest of the bunch in my opinion, with Decideueye not making up for edgefurry and trapfurry. For a group of starters to be "bad" in my opinion 2 of them have to be blatantly bad.

Competitively, Feraligatr is just the only good one. Sheer Force Life Orb is what's keeping him adrift and for good reasons. Typhlosion is just bad since its a special attacker that almost no special moves to use outside of STAB, Extrasensory and Focus Miss are your only two options unless you use HP. If it wasn't for Eruption, no one would even bother with Typhlosion and it doesn't help that its stats are just Charizard's, no difference.

Admittedly, they are good in-game, but any mon can be used in-game sooo.

Serperior looks like a regal snake with the patterns on its body.

Samurott would've looked much better if it stayed as a biped, but it still looks neat as the water type of shogun its evolutionary line is trying to show.

Now here's a bitch slap to those words. Decidueye in Japanese poles had about 40% of votes. Rowlet had about 45%. Now, yes, people do like rowlet more, but that's just a little. At least compared to the next numbers you'll see. Litten had about 40% and try and guess how much incineraoar got. He got about 17% 17!!!!!% so saying that people like rowlet over decidueye a lot more then phanacin over delphox, is understating decidueye.
