I would hope that there are gyms in the regular story, but post game provides us with new trials.

I don't get this map. iirc you get Fairinium and Poisonium both in Poni Island, not in Po Town and not in Seafolk Village.

anyways these islands were shit to explore. Give add puzzles and shit so I actually feel like I'm not on rails. Make the old pokemon rare and make the newer ones more common. Embiggen the regional dex to at least 400. Why the fuck are Trumbeak and Wingull on every island? Who wanted this?

more clothing options, wifi mulitbattles in the tree, bring back triples, rotations and inverse battles, etc

I'd like if Poni island got some urban development and became the new starter island with a bunch of fresh new stuff to mess with, maybe save Ula for last. If the E4 stays similar to what it is now, save maybe subbing Hau for Hala, then that nixes Fighting, Rock, Ghost/Dark, and Flying from the gym line up. I feel like if anyone got totally dropped from the league it'd be Nanu exiting on his own. We need more Molayne. It'd also be neat to get some GSC style updates to the existing cast that make reappearances. Giving Lana the misty treatment in particular would be nice. So maybe...

Guzma as a member of the Elite Four, after having trained under Hala for a long time. Hau wanted to continue the search for his father, so Hala passed the torch to Guzma instead.

I would like to see Lusamine aid the player in some way.

Plumeria is now a trial captain, she and Guzma assist the player.

Nanu remains the Kahuna of Ulala.

Gladion might be part of the police force, along with Nanu.

Poni island is now much more settled, and will be the location for the new Pokémon World Tournament, like in BW2

It'd be neat to see Lillie come back after her big adventure to find the SM protag left while she was gone, so she stays around and becomes champion while waiting for him/her to return. Sort of like how the old champs would run into you in the plot, she'd wander in and out of events as she searched the islands and visited the old trial captains asking around about the old protag. There'd be a lot of little comments about how your new protag reminds her of the SM protag as she catches you beating up evil team grunts, or exploring the ruins and fighting the island guardians, and finally fighting her for champ status.
