How many Pokemon are "too much" in a dex? If, say, a new generation were to come out, what would the ideal ratio be between new Pokemon and Pokemon from previous generations? Is a 400+ dex like Kalos too much?
TBQH just put in literally every pokemon. I don't know why this isn't already the case.

>GF makes a game with every single Pokemon available
>Game is ridden with 1% encounter rates
>Even with implementing Weather, Day/Night, Headbutt Trees, Honey Trees, Horde and SOS battles in a single game it would be a clusterfuck of encounters
No more than 200. Actually, between 200 and 150 is a good amount
Give us another BW / B2W2 situation. The first game only has new pokemon and the second has a mix

>having to use old games is easier
fuck off
just put 200 in a regional dex then post game make something like a friend safari without the friend code autism or something where the other 600 pokemon suddenly migrate to the region in certain routes
Just add the cross-gen evos, fairy type, day-and-night cycle and certain pokemon that came afterwards, rearrange the pokedex a bit and have the perfect game i always wanted when i was in primary.

*Go back to gen 3 first.
My bad.
300-400 is good for a regional dex. Preferably 100 new and the rest being an even split of the other gens - not biased to 1 gen (Kanto in SM)
I think 150 - 250 is the perfect range for a dex. And ideally, the ratio of new Pokémon to old would be at least 2:1 or 3:1, unlike the norm that is nowadays to be something like 1:4.

150 is a great number that makes me think "I can do this!".
I really wish they'd make another fresh game like BW. Completing a dex with ONLY new pokemon is fun, completing a dex with 300 old pokemon is just boring.
I really liked the Kalos 450 pokemon dex.
Wouldn't mind having another big regional dex like that one.

Big regional dexes of 300+ are fine by me, but eventually it's going to get interesting when the total number of Pokemon in the universe of games exceeds 1,000 and GF has trouble deciding which among them make the cut for any new game.
