I really like the design, so I bred myself one with Play Rough, gave it night slash and rock slide, and swords dance for good measure and tried to use it in the battle tree

It sucks, it really, really sucks. Even after a boost it failed to OHKO many mediocrely defensive pokemon. Sometimes even SE night slashes failed to kill too. Lost after only 2 matches, I'm so disappointed.

Mega Absol was a very hard Mega to use, because its defenses weren't boosted and remained 60/60 you either had to run Protect + 3 attacks or Mega Evolve in a predicted switch, and even resisted hits do a lot of damage.

Gen 7's Mega Evolution turn was a great buff because it now can start from 115 Speed instead of 75, but the problem with defenses remain.

edgyness doesn't mean it's furbait you dumbass. Do you understand what furbait means?

Furthermore, do you understand what edgy means? it means daring and mold breaking, pushing boundaries, something this pokemon doesn't do at all in any way whatsoever. It could mean having a nervous, bod or even provocative trait or personality, and the only thing absol has in terms of that is the one line in the dex stating "they appear where disasters follow" but they don't even cause them.

You're degradating both words further into the realm of meaningless buzzwords since you can't come up with an argument as to why this pokemon shouldn't be liked, even though there's tons upon tons of those to pick from if you spent a second thinking.

One of my friends used this piece of garbage once when we battled each other. My Magnezone took it out in one hit. A non super-effective hit.
