>you now remember trying to beat his tyranitar
>>31468064
I didn't have this one when it came out, only Colosseum. And when I did finally get it about maybe a year or two ago, I only got as far as picking up the Delcatty. Plan on trying to snag everything in Colosseum and XD soon, then transferring to Fire Red, so how hard is Tyranitar?
Yes I remember that thing I threw a cloned master ball at.
>>31468261
not hard
I don't know what OP is talking about
THis game is not hard and you only see the skill swap Slaking if you are unlucky and bad at doubles
>>31468261
i saved my master ball for it but nascour has a shadow metagross so pick your poison
>tfw Ein's Raikou kicked my ass so much it made me quit the game
>>31468064
I haven't played Colosseum yet, but I just ordered a used copy off Amazon. I'm in for a ride, aren't I?
>>31468428
Yes, small spoilers to his team butHe first summons a slowking and slaking. The slowking has skill swap. You can guess what happens
>>31468428
Colosseum is actually pretty difficult because of the limited encounters
>>31468492
I heard people say it was difficult because they don't give you good Pokemon, but I always thought "Come on, you get the Johto starters in the beginning of the game. Give me my Typhlosion and watch me sweep everyone." I'm about to get my shit kicked in, aren't I?
>>31468064
why the fuck is riku there
>>31468064
>Not using infinite Masterball/any kind of ball glitch to cheese these fuckers
Let's be honest, would be a fucking chore having to catch them again and purifying them all.
If anything that skill swapped Slaking fucked my shit back then.
>>31468610
Part of Colosseum's difficulty is being starved for type coverage, especially early on because of how Shadow Pokémon work in this game. You might not get your shit kicked in necessarily but you'll probably be in some tight situations.
>>31468631
Should I keep both Espeon and Umbreon in my team or ditch one of them? Or both, I doubt they could carry my team like Jolteon in Gale.
>>31468610
Actually, Croconaw is a VERY good choice in this game, since 99% of battles are doubles, having him or something with Surf (Like Suicune) really saves your ass, or try running some eartquaker + flying partner.
(btw, in this game, Surf only hits your foes, not your other pokémon like in the newer games).
>>31468261
>Evice is final boss of Colosseum
>"I didn't own this one, only Colosseum"
>"snaged Delcatty"
Anon, I think you have the wrong game.
>>31468649
Espeon is great, Umbreon struggles most of the time. You might want to keep him around until you can purify things, but look for a replacement afterwards.
>>31468649
Umbreon is a good tank to use for catching pokémon and taking hits+ healing, I used that fucker in this and Gale and he was very useful in that regard.
>>31468610
Typhlosion isn't as good as you think it is, but yes you are limited to shitmon while the enemies use strong shit. There are the legendary dogs but you have to grind like hell before they'll even level up.
>>31468651
Makes sense, I've already got like three Typhlosion I care about in the later games, I don't need more when I go to transfer stuff.
>>31468649
Espeon is fantastic due to its high sp.atk stat but Umbreon is really only good for toxic stall.
Thank you OP, my nostalgia meters are off the charts.
>>31468655
>when it came out
>And when I did finally get it about maybe a year or two ago, I only got as far as picking up the Delcatty.
Though admittedly, the way I worded it might've been a tad fucked.

Thanks for the advice, but I need to know one more thing.
Is trying to get Ho-Oh worth it? I managed to get to the top of Mount Battle in Gale, but I didn't know about the no-rotation rule and fucked up my chance to get a Johto starter. Is it any easier in Colosseum, and does the no-rotation rule apply here? Should I even bother, I already got like two from the later games.
>>31468714
No, it was worded right. You just said the wrong game and it really confused me. lol
>doing a randomized run of Colosseum
>nearly every Shadow is a Water or Flying type
At least I got Suicune and Latias before Miror B. Not knowing what you're going to snag next is pretty exciting, even if it's mostly shit.
>>31468762
If you want Ho-Oh in a Gen 3 game, go for it, but just be aware that it has to be in the battle mode, not story mode, meaning you're going through 100 flat-level battles, singles or doubles, with the same team on your Colosseum save file that has all 48 purified already. That being said, transferring in from a gen 3 game to your Colo save is allowed.
>>31468762
There's no rule of party swapping for Ho-oH, at least not at first.
It's not worth it anymore though, you have to beat Mt.Battle in story mode and then in battle mode using your story team. You can trade in mons from your GBA games though so you can just trade in ubers and sweep it that way (really only for time purposes, the NPC's use shitmons until round 80 in battle mode)
You can't reset for Ho-oH's nature or anything.
>>31468337
well you could just use the unlimited masterball glitch
>>31468337
>He didn't use the Pokeball cloning glitch.
>>31468821
You don't have to finish it in story mode first, you just have to finish the story mode itself with everything purified.
You're right that you can't reset Ho-Oh's nature, though, which really sucks. One Ho-Oh per save, too.
>>31468887
Maybe I'm just remembering wrong since the Pokeflute at the 100 platform made me go for it to purify one of the (peusdo) legendaries.
>Post yfw Slowking used Skill Swap on Slaking
>>31468064
I was pretty disappointed that the "ultimate shadow pokemon" was a mere tyranitar.
>>31470189
>strongest non-legendary pokemon at the time
>"mere tyranitar"
bruh
>>31470480
>what is metagross and salamance
I remember resetting repeatedly until his Tyranitar was female.
