Am I the only one who absolutely despises the Pokédex map feature in these games?

I completed the main story yesterday, and the first thing I planned on doing in the post-game was completing the Pokédex. Turns out that when I look at the maps of the different regions, I can't even fucking see what route my pointer is on, so I have to manually check the map each time to ensure that I'm headed in the right direction. Did it ever cross Game Freak's mind that allowing players to create destination points on the map would help them out tremendously?

This game is fucking garbage. I'm sorry.
