I tried running the mega more offensively, a calm mind + shadow ball set, but it gets fucked by so much things, specially physical attackers, and it finds difficulty in recovery. Which is a shame, I like the design, but I prefer sableye as a pressure and utility mon.

honestly can't agree, feels too easy mode even for a strong mon like gengar to just trap people and kill them with such a powerful mon, especially with the megastone mechanic buffs. at least with wobbufett and gothitelle they give you some opportunity to fight back even if you may die anyways, but with mega gengar he's a fire and forget sort of deal with his power and speed.
