This. Holy shit, I haven't watched the anime since, like early Johto, (though I did see snippets here and there, just not whole eps) but people said "you gotta see this." Was not disappointed. Doesn't hurt that sceptile is my favorite starter of all time, either. Damn good battle.

gym leaders/rivals in particular

it sucks that we don't have already this mode in the main game
especially when gf tends to limit the number of pokemon for the trainers...
the possibility to use more pokemon than the opponents doesn't feel right at all!
(same for the use and eventual spam of heal items in battle, mc like npc)

Never changing the age of the protagonist so original fans could grow up and find other hobbies and interests while luring in new fans because, after all, this is a children's franchise.
