My favorite gen is probably gen 2 or 3
They both impacted the most, gen 2 because it was my first game ever, since my parent forbid me to play any video game and I was playing it hidden and gen 3 because it was my first time having a full pokedex and playing with friends

Probably Gen 3. A lot of good memories and Pokemon I like from that Gen. 4 would be close second as well as 1.

Probably Gen 1 since it was the start of the series and I survived through Pokemania. My friend got me into it and all we did was Pokemon. Too bad he quit with Gen 2.

Gen. 5 for having my favourite dex, music and region design overall. Additionally, Bianca is one of the best humans in Pokemon to me.

Gen. 7 already; thanks to introducing the line in pic related which are easily my favourite fictional creations of all time. That - combined with how bubbly and full of character Alola is - has taught me to finally enjoy things for the first time in my life.
