I only catch Pokemon whose gender makes sense with the way the Pokemon looks.
Everything I catch is in regular Poke Balls.
Probably not that unpopular but I only use Pokémon that are introduced that gen.

I used to as well during the Pokémon online days.

Since everything with a gender defaulted to male and a lot of players didnt bother with switching gender, it was fun to fuck around with mons that had attract.

On the flip, it was a good counter to other players who realized they could abuse attract.

If a type repeats in the team, they must have a different secondary type, otherwise one of them goes to the box.
Natures matter for character rather than stats.

I play the game blind and use pokemon I want to use

I have a full Living Dex, including Alolan forms (but excluding visual differences like sawsbuck) and I've given ALL of them competitive movesets, even shitmons like Wurmple. I've also made sure they're all in Pokeballs that fit their design (even if they're not able to normally), e.g. Empoleon in a Heavy Ball. Yes I'm autistic

I use PKHeX to edit my mons with a very specific set of IVs: I make then in order to be 31, 26, 21, 16, 11 and 6. 31 Being the highest base stat on the fully evolved form of the given Pokémon, and 6 being the lowest. In case of a tie, I decide with stat is going to be higher based on the Pokémon. I also edit the nature to boost the highest stat and reduce the lowest.

For exemple, let's say I'm using A-Ninetales, which has 73 Hp/67 Atk/75 Def/81 Sp. Atk/100 Sp. Def/109 Spe, it's IVs would be: 31 Spe, 26 Sp. Def, 21 Sp. Atk, 16 Def, 11 Hp, 6 Atk, and it would have a Timid nature.

I only use those in-game, not online.

I only use pokemon from the generation of the game im playing on except for HGSS

I dont care about shinies because I would only care if one of my favorite pokemon had a shiny that looked better than the regular design, which isnt the case.

when a pokemon full evolve i remove from the party, i only play all the game with the starter and the event pokemon pre release (muchlax, beldum, torchic and ash greninja) and crobat (because always have to be a zubat). Btw, in the post game is very easy for me fill the pokedex

Whenever a new Pokemon game comes out I pick out a team of Pokemon that I want to use, and make sure to use them and only them for the playthrough, regardless of how far in the game i need to catch them or not (+obligatory starter that I use until I have at least two Pokemon of the picked out team)

I also give them nicknames, personalities and gijinka designs and try to imagine how they'd interact with each other

I'm pretty much autistic AF with my pokemon's experience in the game. So not only are my pokemon always only one level higher than the rest, a pokemon who LOOKS like it closer to reaching the next level will be put farther back in the party then the one with the least experience. I do this after every damn battle. I haven't used my Wishi Wishi in nine levels cause I always keep the Exp share on. I kind of want to grind my weak cottonee with the exp share off until it's like a level ahead so I can turn it back on and stop using it for a while.
