Considering how outdated it is and how much has changed, returning to Kanto in an HGSS-style sequel is makes much more sense than a Sinnoh remake, which is still, as far as we, the same.

It'll happen, all games get remakes sometime, but Sinnoh games are pretty good as they are right now. They aren't in any dire need of a remake.

If GF wanted a Kanto remake they'd do one for the 20th annivesray, not year or two after because it doesnt make any sense. The amount of kanto references in XY and SM was too big to expect actual remake anytime soon

It might happen on the 25th or 30th annivesary though

You must have missed that period where a large chunk of Internet fanbase ranging from here to twitter wanted remakes of Hoenn.
Needless to day the demand for a remake was far stronger for Hoenn than currently for Sinnoh. Saying "People said the same about Hoenn" is just outright wrong.

Deoxys makes me think of Sinnoh more than Hoenn. Probably the meteorites or the fact it got actual distribution in gen4.
