I watched this whole Thriller Bark arc that was like 70 episodes that could easily be cut down to 20 because of so much stupid shit that exists solely to pad out the 22 minute run time

The manga doesn't have any of those problem. Also, I recommend checking out of of the movies. They also don't have any of these problems, and might help you gain interest in the series.
