Most shinies look terrible honestly, never got why people go crazy over them. Very few look better then the base color, let alone even good. Only in rare cases like reunicles which looks fucking phenomenal.

Which is worse in your opinion: A shiny that's barely different or a shiny that's radically different?
I think shit like Gengar is worse, vastly different shinies can still look good while the others are basically pointless.

As much as Espeon is a typical 'puke' shiny, I love it. Which is why I bred a shiny Espeon years ago to annoy my friends who hate the shiny.

Actually looking at it again, I think GF have kind of fixed its shiny problem in Gen 6 onwards.

Up to Gen V, both its shiny and normal forms are blue, with the shiny form ironically looking more like the official artwork with its paler shade of blue.

With the 3D model, the normal form now looks like what the old shiny did with the paler blue, while the shiny is now a dark grey colour.

They could have made it more obvious though.
