There are some seriously deluded fans out there if anyone really thought they'd announce a sequel game not 3 months later. SM sold well, they're gonna keep that train going until it's efficient for their revenue to announce the next one.
For the believers who were hurt last night, what were you thinking? Was SM really such a disappointment that you want a sequel to a game that disappointed you?

Not only did it sell well, it's one of the highest-grossing Pokemon games ever. I think it's only coming in under Gen 1's games currently, and if I recall those numbers include eShop sales.
