I had fun seeing what wacky ideas you fags had last time. Can we repost / make some gym leader cards again? Bonus points for details about your gym. Beaut y/ typleless template next post.
>Inb4 nearly half of all leaders are psychic
>fags
Wow.
That's really offensive.
>>31357928
Quickie. Focused more on the theme than viability, unsure which TM to give so I just chose one that all might be able to do. I mean earthquakes unveil fossils sometimes, and most of these are rock subtype, so...
>>31358379
Maybe you're looking for a rock type template?
>>31358379

>>31357928
>>31357947
>theme
is this like, what your team is about or the music that plays during your battle?
>>31358839
The idea your team is based around. My team, for example, is based around insects that are rare in the area where I live. Thank god bees are rare here, because I think I'm allergic to them. If I was going to use a theme as in music, I'd probably put it in the post via youtube link, like so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnzF2ZPwx84
>>31357928
Mobileposting right now, but have a write-up.

>>31357928
the gym would have something to do with beating trainers to unlock paths to shut down valves that control walls of fire
There isn't really a TM that fits with the theme so I went with something generic.
These are always fun.
>>31359861
>Not Shell Smash
>>31359003
Fantastic concept, I hope it gets an image eventually
>mine
A multiple floored, dilapidated brick building full of old machinery reshaped into "modern art" making for floor puzzles. Trainers would run a gambit of weird lines from stuff like a guy starting your battle by asking if he can taste you to a female trainer who makes each pokemon game's obligatory joke about pokephilia. After s few floors progressed by stairs, leader is accessed via hole in a wall. His room is completely orderly, full of working machines, and acts nonchalant, monotone, and speaks like everyone outside is totally normal.
>>31357928
I'm gonna re-do my dark type team.
>>31359897
Only one of them can even learn that and it's not a bug type move, but that's still probably a better idea than X-scissor.
Hey hey gameros. I'm back.
Gym is the same as last time featuring spectators of fight instead of real fighters, just super nerds, wires, and dimly lit rooms with TVs displaying fights my dude.
>>31358928

>Bronzong taking front stage
I like you.
Working on my own, but what is considered a minor legendary?
Here's the concept, FIGHTING DIRTY AS FUCK!
Also mixed type gyms should exist.
>Scraggy/Scrafty and Pangoro are because they share both types, also Scrafty is your typical punk.
>Timburr, Gurrdurr, and Conkeldurr is because using weapons in a fist fight is a dirty tactic.
>Sneasle and Weavile are because scratching people is a dirty tactic.
>Sharpedo is because biting is a dirty tactic(and I needed a mega)
>Incineroar is because why the fuck would I not include the HEEL Pokémon in a team centered around dirty combat.
>>31360640
I forgot the other things... let me rectify that,
Sweeps are a dick move. And lowering the enemy's speed to a halt is also a dick move.
>>31360067
>gif
Nigga come on your making the rest of us look bad. Seriously though that real cool.
>>31360625
I'd guess a sub-600 bst legendary, like a trio member, I guess?
Aegislash and Bisharp are weapons, Heatmor and Torkoal are both used as furnaces, and Aggron because I needed a mega and he kinda fits the theme as well. Also, the badge is a hammer.
>>31360640
>mixed-type gyms should exist
Funny you should say that, I actually designed an entire game's worth of hybrid-type Gyms.
>>31359191
I agree, you have awesome taste anon. You'd be the most fire fire E4 member ever
>mfw have to face you
Where are people getting these sprites
>>31362502
probably the internet
>>31362585
Well yeah but I mean there's people with gen 3-5 style sprites of gen 7 'mons and I have no idea how I'd even find those
I had a lot of fun finally doing this, had the idea brewing in my head for a while now. Only had a skeleton for the team in mind though, the character bio developed as I made the template. What do you guys think?
>>31363047
DAMMIT I forgot the badge. Anyway this has given me inspiration to make a whole gauntlet of gyms based around terrain and weather. I need to sleep right now but i will come back to this.
I feel like I kind of half-assed this- Normal was very difficult for me to try and build a theme around- but I like the team I came up with regardless.
Also considered Dragon, Psychic, and Ice, but Grass is my favorite type by a wide margin nowadays
>>31363312
Weird theme, how do Slaking, Pidgeot, and Sawsbuck relate?
>>31362320
>two rockruffs
weird choice but otherwise most of it works
also

>>31361560

>>31360067
You mother of the fucks, that animation
Other than that I really like the theme, Toxicroak should be swapped for Machop line though if you wanna go for the full spectator sport theme
>>31363378
volkner does have a octilery in his electric gym
ill work on that template next time
desert theme without monotyping ground
this has probably been done like 20 million times before but whatever, ended up putting 2 grass types in and 2 dark in, but other than that I kinda like it
No mega but Krookodile utilises z-sandstorm
>>31362740
"Gen vii menu sprites pokemon" in google top link should be bulbapedo. If you're using mspaint, set your secondary color to black and paste using transparent selection.
>>31360702
If your theme is dirty fighting, then Shapedo really doesn't make much sense, since, you know, it's not a fighter
>>31360640
>FIGHTING DIRTY AS FUCK
If you want to BTFO all the children and crush their spiritsmake a stall team
>tfw your favorite type with the most pokemon you like and general playstyle, the type whose has the most designs you think are the best, and the type with your number 1# favorite pokemon are all different
I'm always conflicted about these. The 3 types in question are Poison, Ghost, and Dark though, so I guess I can make an edgelord themed gym.

>>31363596

I don't know if I'll have the time to sit down and make one of these before the thread expires, but I have gotten the template now and I've got a few ideas to work with. I've just started running a tabletop Pokemon campaign and this could be a really good way to set up significant characters who run monotype teams.
The one that's been sitting in my head the most starts with Skarmory - but I can't decide whether I want to run Steel or Flying based on that.
Took me a bit to make this. To explain the multiple Rotom thing, basically the form depend on the starter you chose. The first time you encounter a Rotom form its the type that's weak to your starter, the second its the same type and up til the E4 it's the type that beats your starter.
For the full team, the rotom form depends on the day of the week. I'm not sure which rotom would go to which day, but regular rotom takes up both Saturday and Sunday.
Hey, OP, can you post the fullsize version of these? I can tell the templates were downscaled
>>31368139
Sorry, m8, I wasn't OP last time, and I just have what I saved from him.
This gym is all about changing type in different ways mid-battle to throw off the opponent.
>Porygon has conversion
>Kekleon has protean
>Deerling/Sawsbuck have camouflage
>Ditto has transform
>Castform changes with the weather
>Lopunny adds fighting type when it mega evolves
>Meloetta changes forms with relic song.
>>31363378
>Fighting/Fairy is an odd combo
That's what made it such a fun idea, because it's unexpected. For the Fighting-types in that Gym, I wanted to go for those who seemed really muscular and those who actually lifted weights (which is why Conkeldurr is there), and for the Fairy-types I wanted to go for the more physically-oriented Fairy-types, since most of those are Specially-oriented.
Saving this thread
Finally done
Basic theme is:
>Fire/Water/Ice/Ground - Weather
>Electric/Psychic/Grass/Fairy - Terrain
also Golurk and Gigalith are regional forms (Grass/Rock and Rock/Electric respectively), while Torterra/Florges/Slowking/Electivire have megas which have the Terrain Abilities (from the Tapus) of their respective typing
I probably got way too into this, but then again I've been stewing over these gym ideas (with these tree being pretty more developed than others) for ages now.
>>31361998
Lovin' some of these combos. Two mega evolutions vs your 1 for a double battle gym leader is also a nice gimmick / potentially difficult obstacle to tackle.
>>31363596
Liking it and even if desert is an obvious one, its still a good angle and has lots of potential. exeggutor is a lil' out of place though.
>>31368615
Theme is cool, but if you're going for in-game transformations why not cherrim instead of sawsbuck? I'd also propose battle bond greninja, possibly.
>>31372137
Liking the pattern idea with themes being arena effects. If not using fakemon though, perhaps have it so the weather condition / terrain is a permanent fixture within the gym, like how weather can occur in certain areas and routes?
>>31372591
I was going for only normal types that become other types. Cherrim and battle bond Greninja also don't change types when they transform.
Your gyms are pretty cool, especially the fire one.
>>31372716
ah, fair enough, my bad for not comprehending the theme correctly.
Thanks for compliment!
>>31372591
>exeggcutor out of place
It's literally a palm tree
>>31372919
I dunno, I'd imagine palm trees on beaches and coasts, not deserts, right? Unless the vibe you want is just general sand?
I dunno though, it's a cool team but thats just my 2 cents on it.
My team is based around pokemon who share food themed abilities (Gluttony, Cheek pouch, Sap Sipper, etc.) or can assist me in my kitchen.
Pidgeot helps me search for rare ingredients and is a means of transportation. Pyroar prevents unwanted thieves and Pokemon from stealing our goods while also serving as a lighter for our stoves and ovens. Diggersby is our side waiter and heavy lifter for when we receive new shipments of common goods. Drampa is our main waiter as he has a very compassionate personality. Heliolisk provides solar energy for our vegetables and fruits. And lastly, my ace, Snorlax is our taste tester for all the food we cook while being our hazard tester if we find one of our "wild" ingredients to be poisonous.
Gym Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7uTXMXtx_g
>>31373005
I love the concept of a full unevolved team. It works even well with your type as normal is the very definition of potential.
10/10
>>31373778
w-wrong list
>>31357928
>>31372591
>perhaps have it so the weather condition / terrain is a permanent fixture within the gym
I'll probably do this with Terrain in the initial battles, but in the case of weather they'll have a weather setting mon in their team regardless so I don't really want to diminish their worth in that regard.
However in the rematches, the previously mentioned mons will have terrain setting megas so I'll probably not have auto terrain there.
The theme's pretty much just studying the toxins of venomous Pokémon, the badge being a simple representation of the cytotoxin found in habus. Scads of Regular/Alolan Grimers and Muks would probably end up wandering around the lab, given the kind of chemical waste it would likely produce.

Great taste in Pokemon, boyo
Slacker Gym.
Posting this again until I make another.
The gym is full of fighting type users, some cross fit douches and stuff like that. Pretty generic. Punching bags. The usual fighting types you expect. Bunch of assholes trying to get you to sign up for a gym membership. Step into the back office. Looks like a messy dorm room. Pizza boxes stacked in the corner, soda bottles laying around and music blasting. Gym leader is the child of the past leader. He was given a scraggy by his father to get him into fighting types. The current Leader likes dark types more and isn't very active like his father and was forced take over the gym when his father went off to be in the e4 or some shit. Basically the idea is just to psych out people who come in with a bunch of ghost and psychic pokemon
>>31372919
>>31372941
While it's a bit weird since deserts don't have palm trees AND cactus, he is right about some deserts having palm trees.
>>31364058
>Be Sinnohan style Elite Four member who bases team around moves rather than the pokemon's type
Now you can use those three types, so long as they all know at least 1 move from only of those types e.g. they all know a Dark move

Aegislash: Haunted Suit of Armor Trope
Lycanroc: Wolf Man
Muk: The Blob
Crobat: Dracula/Nosferatu
Volcarona: Mothman/Mothra

>>31361998
so going off of this i set out to do a full league and realized 2 gyms in that there weren't enough types to do the e4 and champ without having some types show up more than once. Didn't get around to deciding which should make the repeat but here are the duel types i used for the first 9
