Gens 5-7 are part of a new saga in the franchise. the each gen is a phase with the titles calling back to previous gens
Phase 1:
Black/White:gen 1 was on the monochrome Gameboy
X/Y: all gens before gen 6 were played on the x/y axis
Phase 2:
Sun/Moon: Gen 2 introduced the day and night feature
