Never heard of the Krampus before he got popular in the US. It's a southern-only-thing and it pisses me off that Germany gets reduced to Bavaria all the time.

In this mission you use a Pokemon you borrow from the ex-professor who is secretly helping the resistance and he helps you navigate through an imperial building to find these rare pokemom

Sure, but Germany gets reduced to that single region all the time. France is not just Paris, people also know Marseille, for example. UK is not just London, people are aware of Scotland.
Sure, that's still pretty ignorant, it's completely normal not to know every little detail of other countries and I'm probably pretty biased sicne I'm German myself but I always get the impression that especially Americans see all of us as the Bavarian "Lederhosen and Schuhplattler" stereotype.

A region based on Germany should have areas based on the marsh lands of northern Germany, some Island, an industrial region based on the Ruhrpott, Alps and lush environments based on Brandenburg.

I think the reason Americans would have a broader view of the UK is theyre very close to us in the public eye, everyone loves to think theyre very informed on "Euro politics" meaning they read a magazine about the Queen

France, never really hard of Marseille. We're very self-centered, shit just doesnt come up about other countries.

Itd be worse for Germany because of how removed from us you are in politics and because everyone already has an accepted view of your country, thats confirmed by others with the same view. So theres no desire or drive to learn more and see how wrong/narrow our view actually is.

America in general is much much less aware of other countries than other countries are aware of it. Theres just nothing at all in this country or in our schooling that would ever make us naturally stop and think "Hey maybe I should learn about x place."

Marseille is a beautiful harbour city in southern France.

The thing is, America occupied mostly Bavaria after WWII, so they mostly know about Bavaria, which shapes the way they show Germany in popular media, which is also consumed by Asians, South-Americans, Australians etc, so everybody only knows about Bavaria.
And almost nobody here likes Bavaria. Even most people that I know from Franconia (a part of Bavaria) don't like being called Bavarians and I often heard from Bavarians that they wish they'd be independent from the rest of Germany.
