Just got pic related yesterday evening in under 90 eggs. Currently grinding to Lv.100 to fix his Attack stat.

I used the Magikarp swapping method. I HIGHLY recommend learning how to use that method because hatching a bunch of Bagon eggs would have been torture.

Also, what do you guys do with your magikarps if you're using the swap method? Instead of just throwing them away, I level them up to 20 to evolve them into gyarados, give them a hard rock, then teach them waterfall, earthquake, stone's edge, and giga impact just for shits and giggles before wonder trading them.

You could just get 2 early game ghost types and give them both leftovers, which are fairly easy to get. I used Decidueye and Mimikyu after I got the charm but Misdreavus and Rowlet would work too.

Was EV training the Eevee and a shiny Caterpie showed up. Was levelling the Eevee and a shiny Raticate showed up.

I just train my teams for random online battles or the occasional friend who also plays, personally so I've no idea how good stuff is in proper play. Going for a RestTalk set with the Wishiwashi since I've never tried RestTalk despite wanting to and it seems a good fit for it.

I personally like that the Apricorn balls are one offs this gen, it makes them feel legitimately rare.

This was the 2nd Espeon to appear in the chain at around 40 or so. I'm fucking happy and pissed off at the same time; I wanted a damn Eevee.

True, I may be complaining for nothing. Though out of all the generations, I've had the most luck with Sun and Moon. Barring the shiny gyarados you get in Silver, Gold, Crystal or HG/SS, the earliest one I remember getting is a shiny zigzagoon outside of petalburg woods that I named Cocoa puffs. I also remember getting a random shiny gloom that I evolved in a bellossom, I lost both of those however when I got pissed off at my emerald game and smashed it against a wall.

After learning how to chain them I got multiple shiny magnemites, magmars, doduos, and geodudes from platinum as well as a shiny gulpin (now a swalot) and gothitelle in Y, all waiting to be transferred to this gen.

it took 19 boxes and eight days, but I got the first shiny pokemon of my life! I've named them Miracle.

I mean it has a max IVd attack stat, but honestly I rather doubt the AI in the battle tree uses foul play all that much. Nor will my friends. Its HP isn't quite there yet, but that's what hyper training is for.

I'm after golden doggo, just got my shiny charm and decided to actually go for some good IVs even though I don't usually care about that kind of thing. They also have close combat and flare blitz.

Not sure what I'll name it, but I'm using it for a shiny playthrough of Sun once pokebank is back up. I also have a rowlet, spinirak and venipede ready.

Considering I have both the shinies for Mimikyu and Tsareena, I can vouch for either of those two. Not sure how chaining for Mimikyu would pan out since I bred it using the magikarp method, but I did SOS battle for my bounsweet and had no issues in getting it around 40 or so bounsweets in. I suppose if you wanted a challenge you could also go for trapinch since shiny flygon looks good.

Holy shit, I expected the brown to be a little more darker, I almost didn't see it.

Chain of 167 (had a 255+ chain yesterday and gave up due to exhaustion), fucker broke out of a critical capture Love Ball, so I used a Dive Ball.
It's got 4IVs and its hidden ability. So happy right now.

Theoretically. Though you're still more likely to take 500+ eggs on the average hunt, which is an endeavor of a few days for any average person. And don't get me started on the poor fucks who get unlucky and wind up taking 1,000 or even 2,000 eggs to get one shiny.

Breeders did. SOS is ten times easier than the vile, months long tedium of breeding but breeding gives you a much better chance of viable competitive Pokemon at the end.

SOS is infinitely, objectively better if you just want the pretty colors but breeding will get you something you can actually use. SOS is indeed more reliable than MM (you have a way higher chance of shiny) but the shiny will be pretty garbage.

I hate MM'ing because the last MM I did (Phione) took over 50k eggs and several months, with the stupid shiny charm. SOS gets me results in less than a day on most occasions, despite the occasional whiff.

I had a reverse experience to yours in Sun. Shiny Rowlet took me over 1,600 eggs, then Drampa took me over 500. Then I got Wimpod on complete accident in what I assume was under 30 eggs since I wasn't counting, and then I got Zubat in 43. Shiny Rockruff came in tonight at 521, so I'm scared that my luck is wearing out and my next shiny's gonna take me a colossal amount of eggs again.
