I've been reading "It must be luck" on FFN.net

It's based on the storyline of Platinum, with Dawn as the lead. It focuses on Dawn and Cynthia taking down Team Galactic and collecting gym badges. With some romance thrown in.

100k words and 16 chapters. Hasn't been updated since 2010 so I'm assuming it has been finished. I've enjoyed it so far, though I'm only 12 chapters in.

Winx club...is an interesting choice to make for a pokemon crossover. haven't heard of the series since the Fox Kids days, so it would be quite the hard sell to people unfamiliar with the series. If you're really jumping in to season 2 as well it could be a bit more difficult. But who knows, if you can find the right balance between exposition of it and Pokemon it could make for a good story, even for those unfamiliar

Scent's probably one the fics I'm proudest of out of every single one I've ever done and probably ever will. It came with the initial surge of Pokken, where I really wanted to fuck Suicune, and it really personifies the feeling. It's got a unique spin, it's riddled with my shitty fetishes, and the narrative is strong and descriptive.

Shit, every chapter I make of anything major has two whole drafts anyway. I technically rewrite the whole thing anyway just to make sure I got everything I want in the right places. Not that I don't write for fun, I'm kind of useless otherwise right now. I just think git gud is fun.

It is always my intention to make the things I write as potent and beautiful as possible without falling into the part-shakespearian gibberish that my brain thinks in, and it's great that I can manage to do that sometimes. And maybe it's selfishness that makes me feel like I'm always supposed to be competing with those successes. I try and describe a landmark or a setting in past tense, it sounds like it's no longer there.

But an easy rule I follow is to make sure any sort of "action" is in present tense, and just make sure nothing else makes anything clash with that.

That's why I put new chapters into google docs first, but either most people don't bother marking problems, or they're just as apathetic in reading as I am about subtle grammar issues. I've beta'd plenty of stories in the past, and I do well to mark and comment work I've been given to help the original writer learn how to correct any mistakes they might make.

Jesus christ, I'm really sick of the "boyfriend and girlfriend fluff". If there's fluff, it's much more engaging when the characters are awkward and unsure. When two people are content with their relationship, there's no plot progression. Even smut can't save it. It's painfully boring.

Yeah I remember being a 12 year old horndog fawning over "fluffiness" in fanfiction, but that was nearly a decade ago. I can't take it anymore.

that's the thing about romance fics: People are interested as to how the relationship develops and the challenges it faces before it can be surely anchored it. Ultimately, the original goal of almost all romance fics is to reach that level of perfect happiness in a relationship, where it could be presumed that every day from there on is maintained at that high level. Anyway, I'm currently slowly but surely writing a fic about an idea I had and posted on a Leaf thread not so long ago. It's about the female mcs all meeting each other and becoming friends (or not). Set in SM. Humor, references, maybe some slice of life..

Leaf is the leader of the pack. She's admired a lot by the others and despite not being champion is one of the strongest. Acts cool and "mature" but really borders on Lyra and Rosa levels of childish. Good friends with Johto gals. Currently 21.

Kris (Crystal) is a fuckable nerd. It's easy to get her flustered. She and Lyra have mostly a good relationship but they tend to argue. 18 years old.

Lyra is Kris's immouto and mostly a dumb brunette. Childish, loves to play around. Very energetic. 17 y/o

May is the perfect waifu. Everything good blended in one. Also, contest idol and professor in the making. Pretty much a complete package in every sense of the word. She's the oldest at 22.

Dawn is the only champ out of them and is slightly dandere/kuudere. It takes some time for her to warm up to people and she's shy. One of two that have a legendary. Dawn's 18.

Hilda is overall tomboy and badass. Atlethic, extroverted, etc. She has a slight boob complex and is perplexed as to why Rosa has them big while she is flat. (You have another asset, don't worry.) Hilda is 18.

Rosa is a genki girl and looks up to Hilda as a big sister. Somewhat of a lazy bum. She along with Chicken are the most innocent ones, they may not understand some references. Rosa is 16.

Serena is a bit of a tsundere, fashionable and despite being a girly girl is not afraid to get hard core like Hilda. These two don't get along at first due to their contrasting personalities. 18 years old.

Chicken is... Chicken. She also has a legendary. The others understimate her because she's a 11 year old but they don't know what she's capable of. She tends to speak broken engrish

Some things may be altered in it, but nothing major should actually need to be done to 4. Chapter 15 however...

TDT chapter 3 was always one that 'happened' but one that didn't end up really affecting the story beyond it. Its new version can accomplish everything the old version did, but also become very important later on if the events should be found out by the main characters.

The old version of TDT3 was steeped in a lot of story elements that just aren't relevant or important to how the story ended up evolving into. This new one, I hope, is more in-line with what I now have in mind for the story as a whole.

This might sound a little odd, but how do you handle the Pokeworld?
I dug up some old drawings and all that stuff when I got into Pokemon in elementary and gen 3 just had come out.
To me, even though I still love the franchise, Pokemon reached it's peak with Gen 3. Everything else added (or taken away for the matter) doesn't feel natural. I mean this in a way both relating to the geography of the Pokemon world and pokemon themselves.
I thought about writing something Pokemon related for the first time, but I am having problems with it.
I might elaborate further if anyone is interested.

I got a bug to write recently so I've been working on some generic adventure fapfic and I'm wondering about something.

How do you guys like your Pokemon genitals? As realistic as possible? Human like? A bit of both? I'm actually putting a fair bit of effort into keeping them consistently in line with their real world counterparts. It's made for a lot of good writing ideas and interactions based entirely just off how different they can get. However if it turns out a general readerbase wouldn't like the idea of anatomically correct animal penises and vagoos I don't think I would bother to keep at it.

I dunno, I haven't given it that much thought honestly. I had a few half-thoughts floating around, and am vaguely entertaining the idea of him being somewhat taken to Ana's Banette in the interest of establishing further parallels and contrasts between him and Ignace, but nothing concrete. Romance wasn't in the scope of ACPC, rather just characters appearing that already had relationships in place (see: Jo and Vio), and I don't see that changing but I'm not against subtext.

In terms of productivity, how do you guys space out your writing.
Personally, I don't like to write consistently every day. So I take a day off to refresh my mind and reflect on my writing. It's usually on my days 'off' that i get new ideas for more shit to write.

It's been on and off randomly in the space of a month before I feel it's crunch time and I have to get something out before its been much longer than a month since I've posted something. I want to change that to be posting twice a month, but I got sick yesterday and that's really killed my motivation. I'm still gonna try, but god damn if being sick doesn't suck shit.

Throughout the week, if I have any ideas for my stuff I'll write them down immediately in my phone or whatever I have available. Ideas come at random usually, but often I get inspiration for my stuff while driving and listening to music.

For intense writing sessions or editing, I spend 2-3 days a week doing that.

After completing a large chapter/piece, I'll sometimes take some time away from the project entirely to put my mind at ease. I often stress about whether or not my grasp on writing slips between chapters, since I take so long between finishing anything.

Also look at that, 310 is the bump limit now. What an odd number.

But before I started writing things down as soon as I could, I would often forget things and never get them back. Better to try and write some reminder and just erase it than lose it entirely.
