I've now changed it up to swapping Sword's Dance for Night Slash and it's tearing through the place. Back line is Tapu Fiddy and Gliscor's classic stall if Kartana goes down or a Fire or Fighting shows up. Swap to Tapu, immunity to any confusion 2, and a Soak for any steel or Poison to get my Gliscor Toxic stall on

Fuck this game.

I've been going with life orb koko, mega metagross, and z mirror move staraptor and had quite good results.

Lead koko, if fairy or steel treat -> voltswitch to metagross
If earthquake incomming vswitch/hardswitch to staraptor.

Z mirror move on staraptor gives it +2 atk so you can go jolly and still have beastly attack AND if you can pull it off, you copy the last used move, turn it into a z move and then attack with your boosted attack stat with a z move. Only do it with physical tho, special will get you nowhere. Depending on the situation you can also use bravebird z move instead.

Metagross is just solid as is, can take hits, faster than most things and deals great damage...

You can easily get 50+ in singles with this if you concentrate and don't mess up or get reeeally haxed out

I don't think the exact EV spreads of the pokemon are listed anywhere but a few times I've had to run calcs because something I used didn't kill what should have been a kill and I found out just how silly some of the EV spreads can be in the battle tree. If you ever have a moment of "But how did that not die, that should have killed it!" it could be that the thing you tried killing has some stupid ass EV spread that just happens to hard counter your dude.

I open with Life Orb Kartana and the rest of my team is Mega Alakazam and Pheromosa with fightnium Z (since I can't have 2 life orbs and the z move makes High Jump kick not miss).

30 battles with Porygon-Z, Mega Slowbro and Lum Berry Mimikyu, the easiest wins of my life. Just use Z-Conversion and sweep. If you face a fast fighting pokemon or a slow EQ user, switch to Slowbro. If it's a status user or Chansey/Blissey, switch to Mimikyu and sweep.

Z-conversion boosts all of porygonz stats by one stage, so it would be like giving it a Choice scarf/spec/ass vest without the drawbacks and you get a decently rounded pokemon to sweep with

Conversion also works by changing porygon's type to the same as your first move. Most commonly used is thunderbolt for paralysis immunity

It makes a decent special sweeper in maybe early rounds

Counterteaming is actually easier to play around than this. If the AI gets into a sticky situation they can always fall back on crucial crits against pokemon with 100% acc moves, OR crucial misses when a pokemon has a <100% acc move.

Ninetales is underrated, and behind Aurora Veil, it is deceptively bulky. Encore really messes up a lot of Pokemon in the tree, but it is hard to know whether the AI will switch after one turn, two turns, or not even switch at all. Gyarados can help clean up, turn Mega when necessary. It synergises well with Ninetales and can set up one or two Dragon Dances (usually no more than two, otherwise the AI WILL crit or status you or both). Aegislash is great overall. Problem with Aegislash is it is easy to overpredict sometimes and can end up fatally, but usually it was that one mon that ended up turning a 1-3 into a 1-0.

What I don't like about Battle Tree is that regular Singles already pits you against powerful fully evolved Pokemon while all the tools necessary for breeding competitive mon are hidden behind Battle Points, they still give you 1 BP per win in the early Singles, regular nobodies have Mega Pokemon (even preschoolers maybe), and the people here definitely have mental problems as they say some really warped up things. Whatever.

I wish I could upload Battle Videos, but ever since that patch, all these interesting battle videos are all of a sudden kill. I'm mad.

Yeah I did that and actually beat Masters, but it gave anything between 1-5 BP. After that I just wanted to continue with the Tree. I just had to go on all offence usually with offensive mons. I just defeat a Blissey with Mud bomb, Minimize, Toxik and Soft Boiled at battle 74.
Thankfully I hit it with Mega Kangaskhan when it has placed 4 Minimize.

Wrong, Kommo-o can survive Ice coverage unlike Garchomp. Garchomp doesn't get Dragon Dance either. Also I've yet to miss a KO with Earthquake on a Ground weak pokemon after a Dragon Dance, so I don't even really need Chomp's STAB EQ. The only perk to switching would be an Electric immunity I don't need at the cost of a Dragon Dance sweeper that can kill a lot of things Garchomp can't, AS WELL AS a bunch of things Chomp can kill. It's just better for the Battle Tree, being bulky and able to boost Speed and Attack in one turn.

I have never encountered a team I couldn't beat or misplaced against on about 80 battles. It's always hax that does the team in. Got an awful nature for my Tapu Koko as well so I can't use these cookie cutter UB/Tapu/Mega spam teams.

I'm the guy who posted the Ninetales team above there. I like it, but unfortunately I'm not sure if pure Ice will work well. More often than not, they'll bring a counterteam that will destroy this, maybe a Steel lead or an opposing Fire lead, like vanilla Ninetales. I usually pair Ninetales and Sandslash together as they actually do work well, but it is too risky in Battle Tree. 32 is pretty cool though. What kind of set are you running?

I seriously cannot recommend Encore enough. Use that over Blizzard. I know Ninetales is weak and you need that power from Blizzard to OHKO things, but usually the hail itself will do the job, or Ninetales is bulky enough to live everything, and sometimes even sweep the whole enemy team. If not, the other Pokemon will do the job, provided you play properly. If you see a potential Steel move mon, it's probably best to switch, but I'm sure you know Ninetales is usually fast enough to set up that Aurora Veil.

If you are using a Ninetales + Sandslash combo, put a Life Orb on Sandslash. It really needs that extra power to score the OHKOs with the + 2. If you do not use Sandslash, replace Icy Rock on Ninetales with Light Clay, as the Aurora Veil support is invaluable while Hail might get in the way. Icy Rock is the way to go when doing the Ninetales + Sandslash combo, as the extra bulk is helpful for setting up the Swords Dance. Problem with this is enemy Mega Charizard Y, so you will need something to deal with that if you use Ninetales + Sandslash, which I found limiting in a 3v3 setting. In 6v6 setting however, Ninetales + Sandslash I actually found very effective.

I wish Gamefreak would fix Ice types already. They're an already flawed type, and I'm convinced they have a hate boner for them after these seven generations. They did somehow improve them, but it is nowhere near the levels of the other weathers.

You can't I forgot to change the item in the post. Sandslash's item is Life Orb.

I used to run Hidden Power Fire in the last slot but it proved underwhelming and Ninetales missed a few good KOs with Freeze-Dry so I switched it with Blizzard. I never thought of Encore. I'll try it.

Ninetales' item was Light Clay but I changed it to Icy Rock because my Hail ran out at a crucial moment causing my Sandslash to get outspeed by Mega-Aerodactly which cost me my streak so yeah.

I never even thought about MegaZard Y. That thing is going to be a problem. I hope I never encounter it.

I know right? I really want to use Ice-types but there is not reason to when Water types exist. I wish GF would remove all the Ice coverage from Water types.

I just felt it was not as important because the 4x weak guys were already OHKOd by Freeze Dry and things like Haxorus that survived in the red got KOd by the hail after switching in (or use Moonblast). I think Moonblast does enough to most Waters that isn't Empoleon or Tentacruel, who are Encore bait for Gyarados or Aegislash to dispose of.

I've encountered Mega Charizard Y many times. I also encountered Sunny Day Pyroars. The ones who use Sunny Day immediately are set up bait from Encore, and those who elect to Fire Blast immediately only takes a little over half of Ninetales HP from Aurora Veil, and set up bait for Gyarados. Beware of Vanilla Ninetales, especially as lead. It is slower than regular, meaning sun will proc, has Confuse Ray, which actually did my Gyarados in. It also carries Passho Berry lol. So it was a miracle Aegislash was the one who finished that battle. Sun teams are usually my worst nightmares, Sometimes the enemy burns Gyarados, but if it is an all Fire team, which it usually is, it has enough power after + 2 to OHKO with Earthquake through.

Just usually with Ninetales set up Aurora Veil and either Encore or switch. Don't set up on Dugtrio (hair one especially) because they are all plus speed and have metal moves. Just switch to Gyarados for that.

I don't know about removing the Ice coverage on Waters. Waters are solid, but they don't do enough damage to bulky Grass anyways. Just need to deal with the actual problem (Ice types not having any resists) before anything. After Gen 1 I'm still very salty about Articuno.

Once I got utterly destroyed by Drought Torkoal + Trick Room/Instruct Oranguru online. That shit was brutal. I have no idea how to counter it.
