They both have four weaknesses. Defog and Rapid Spin exist. Not staying in on Ice Type moves is a strategy.

also Arielate being a poor -ate ability doesn't matter when it's still an -ate ability.
You get a free 100+ BP STAB move and a 1.2x boost. It's not like it isn't strong just because it isn't super effective.
