Well, both him and Slaking have the highest Attack out of all Normal mons, if you don't count Megas or Ultra Beasts then they're tied as #3 with highest Attack.
Regigigas is specially bulky having good Defense, Sp.Def and HP
Him and Slaking have above average speed so they're not slow compared to other mons. Both have limitations to keep them in check, Truant and Slow Start. Removing any othen would make them too powerful, though Slow Start lasting 5 turns is overkill for Regigigas, I guess GF had the idea back in gen 4 of "if you let Regigigas last more than 5 turns then you deserve to get fucked" and they just forgot to update the ability as time went on

It's a thing fighter planes can do. It's where they basically fly near straight up to gain altitude as quickly as possible. Give Adaptability

This pokemon is clearly supposed to be a sweeper, but Corrosion is clearly an ability meant for tanks that usually get walled by steel and poison types, Corrosion does nothing for salazzle and it feels like a faster, harder hitting, but frailer Heliolisk, with more weaknesses. It is doomed to UU for good unless it gets a better ability.

People forget to realize that Fairy's only contribution to game balance was to punish mindless spamming of boosted Outrage. The pokemon themselves fail at countering Dragons as most dragons can still learn Poison and Steel moves. Z-Iron Tail Haxorus is a good Mimikyu check as Mold Breaker bypasses disguise. Dragons are never going to get a reliable counters as their vast movepools and ridiculous stats prevents that from ever being a reality.

something I've always thought about: what if there was some single-use battle item that 1 turn only let a slow pokemon outspeed a fast one?A consistent if temporary version of quick claw.

Just like how there's focus band and focus sash, you could have quick claw and (insert name of new item here).

A lot of pokemon are held back just because they hit hard as a truck but get destroyed by a faster mon first, making them a detriment to the team. The prime example of this is Abomasnow: hits hard, sets up well, but kinda useless without Trick Room or some other sneaky workaround.

Just the introduction of an item with this sort of effect could instantly bring some pokemon up a couple of tiers, probably into at least OU, if not beyond.
