Some added flavour to the plot. Honestly the plot could have done without a lot of things (Like the tapus, most of the kahunas/captain, and even the PC could pretty much have not been there) but I kinda liked Softy mcEdgepain and his poor Null.

All silvally gets is cleaner colors and its face showing rather than the somewhat obvious guessing due to null's helmet. Slowbro is an upright slowpoke with a shellder attached that changes form to show its a fucking evolution. You're gonna have to try harder than trying to justify losing a fucking helmet only as an evolution. Well, assuming that getting and evolving Type:Null is canon, then he did manage to have it replicated at least once. That said, Type:Null's overall power didn't really go up when it became Silvally, so it would still be considered a by and large failed experiment, and they were already under fire for other shit, so probably didn't want to start new experiments.

What I'm saying is that don't count the Chimera Dog out yet.

The minimap ingame even makes it look like you're supposed to be able to go there, but the way is blocked off. There's also sections of it that were rendered and coded to have people walking on it, but a lot of it is incomplete. They're less obvious, but there are other places. Poni Island, for instance, has a lot of empty space or space where you can walk around but there's fuck nothing there. Ten Carat Hill almost certainly was more important at some point, too.

There's also all of those empty lots in random places, but I personally think they're fine since it can be taken as foreshadowing for the Gyms.

My set I use is a Rash Ground Memory one with Multi-Attack, Work Up, Flamethrower and Thunderbolt since it needs the stat boosts and Ground-Fire-Electric is pretty good coverage. But say it could learn Earth Power - then you could run a Fairy Memory one with Multi-Attack, Earth Power, Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, giving non-HP Ground reliant Fairy-Ground-Fire-Electric coverage which I'm pretty sure at 703 SE hits is the best in the game. Baton Pass some boosts onto that and you'd sweep

To keep it from being disappointing it basically needs to learn every one of the second ORAS tutor's moves, because for an Arceus clone it's seriously lacking in versatility

I think it's more of a case of them removing some of the padding to make it less grindy and less overleveling due to the exp share and the bonus xp from Affection. Colony organisms and symbiotic relationships are different from "it took the limiter off" and obviously it's a generic anime gimmick, but Goku dropping his weighted clothes never counted as a new form. Kyurem fusing with the other dragons was a powerup that only got a form. Pony thing changing its hair and getting a horn was a form change. Melloetta changing from song to dance was a form change. A hedgehog becoming a dog and learning to fly was somehow only a form change. Hell, Minior basically underwent the exact same shift in form and that's exactly what that was, a form.

Silvally would honestly have been a top tier threat if only it didn't make itself obvious with what type color it has in its idle animation.

Exactly. NULL was made, then it was discarded because it was a failure. Gladion evolved one and ACTUALLY brought it on par with UBs, and fights one with it. Then in postgame after receiving the letter you can immediately get it from Gladion and do whatever you please with it.

Wish it was actually usable though. What I would change about it is:

Give it espeed
Z-cystals should funcion with its ability
Memories become plate clones (giving that 1.2x boost)

With those changes it would actually be a mini Arceus, and I think that'd be perfectly fine.
